Bad -again! Couldn't get on car park, 2.30 Thursday afternoon. I think there should be specially reserved spaces for those of us who have been going there for years while everyone else turned their noses up while waltzing into Waitrose. I've spread the word, now I can't shop there.

Plenty of space, and some good bargains, in Morrisons however. While there, 2 other people in the queue said the same thing, one saw the carpark and kept driving, the other, like me, at least attempted to get on.

    Buxton. Aldi.

There is an Aldi 12 mins from my home - (going up a steep hill to walk home). Unless I only need to buy lightish things and can fit into two shopping bags, I will travel to one of three others within 5 miles of here - different directions. One is part of a retail park and the other 2 have massive car parks. The one near me has an awfully small car park which some idiot drivers' parking does not entice me to drive and park there. Parking Eye should fine these drivers not those who get blocked in because of these numpties!

Went early this morning to source the elusive premium mince pies - again nowhere to be found. Asked the sales assistant who helpfully suggested "perhaps they've finished?".

Proceeded to Lidl where I found what I believe was the last 6 pack - also Which? Approved. I shall save them for best :D

I tried Lidl's fruit & fibre cereal, but thought Aldi's tastes fuller and also comes in a larger box.

Also tried Lidl's El Tequito tortilla chips classic flavor, which are alright but a little bland - only taste the salt really.

I got one at the second store I tried (also in the West Midlands but in a rather less upmarket area than the nearest one which I had tried first). They didn't have any left on display - but informed me when I asked that there were still some in the storeroom and fetched one for me.

We've just had Lidl's Deluxe Chicken and Chorizo pies for dinner - they were fantastic! Lots of filling, really creamy and so tasty. Had them with the Deluxe Duchess Potatoes and some frozen veg. Very happy tummy now.

  • Have used Aldi for most of my grocery shopping for years now and honestly have never had anything I didn't like.Their cola zero is nicer (I think) than the brannd names and infinately better than any other supermarkets own. I occasionally use tesco / asda / sainsburys and am always horrified by how liitle you get for your money.
