Just returned from Aldi - just came on MSE for you
In Aldi, not a premium mince pie to be found...
...until I was going down the freezer aisle and randomly found a box of about 20 just sitting on top of the freezer sliding glass door.
Picked up 3 packs as DD has taken a liking to them.
Was going to suggest you keep eyes peeled in the most random places for the pies. :rotfl:
Am def going to try the Baileys suggestion - sounds lushWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Watch out for the asparagus tips from Aldi.
I got some recently when they were at 99p only to find that night that the actual tips were just about rotten, they smelt terrible and were going all mushy inside. It would have cost more than the refund to drive back to return them so will be very careful in the future with them.
That can happen in any supermarket.
We've been getting the asparagus for the past few months not and not had a problem with any of them, and longevity is comparable to other supermarkets.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Found something we don't like in Aldi
The toothpaste is too runny and we won't be buying again.
Keep an eye out for the 3 pack of Racer bars - the full size ones - just bought them for 29p. Just under 10p per full size Snicker equivalent.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Could have snaffled the lot & put them on ebay:rotfl:0 -

Have to disagree there. I've been using their toothpaste for the past 2 years and every tube has been fine, very minty and a bargain.
Agree that the Racer (Snickers) bars are lovely but I think you've got the price wrong, I'm sure they're not that cheap (probably about double your quote).0 -
What's aldis version of baileys like please? It is worth a buy?0

I think they are phasing out the 3 packs in favour of 6 packs so the smaller ones are being sold off cheaply. I grabbed some of the Mars Bar version the other week at about that price.0 -

The quality of the fruit and veg (and its short life) is one of the very few things letting Aldi and Lidl down. I suspect they don't have a fully functional cool chain, as with the major supermarkets, to keep transportation costs down.
Interesting that Aldi were doing an online customer survey a month ago on the level of satisfaction with their fruit and veg (and another on the meat) - I imagine they're well aware that it's a weak link.0 -

It depends on the actual fruit and veg. Some last ages (potatoes and peppers) and others go off within a few days (courgettes, carrots and onions)
I live alone and rather pay 59p for 4 loose onions than 49p at a supermarket and use them all over 59p for a large bag of them at Aldi and only using 4 and throwing the rest out. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Must depend on where in the country you are and how you store it once home, I buy virtually all my fruit and veg at Aldi and have never had a problem with any of it. I regularly have carrots in the fridge for 2 weeks and they look exactly the same as when I bought them!Grocery Challenge 2024
