Have found a way of gilding the lily...heat gently, break the pie crust gently and add just a drop or three of Baileys (or Aldi equivalent). Top with a generous quenelle of Channel Islands extra thick double cream (a Co-Op purchase
) and enjoy.

I'm considering getting a fresh turkey from Aldi this year. I've not bought turkey from Aldi before - are they OK? When is the best day to get one? I'll probably get one of the normal medium sized ones, sadly funds don't allow a free range bird this year.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

All turkeys are the same and (i'm not saying Aldi do this but) at this busy time of year fresh turkeys are very often previously frozen then defrosted at the processing plant before delivery to the shops and then sold as fresh.
So my advice would be to just buy the cheapest that meets your needs.0 -
Heard a discussion on the radio today about how various supermarkets are doing. 'Expert' acknowledged that loads of people now shopped at Aldi and Lidl and stigma gone. What I disagreed with was that he though people still only went to Aldi/Lidl for a few selected bits and pieces and then did main shop elsewhere. From my experience the balance has changed and I can now get the majority of my shop in Aldi with a small top up at Sainsbury's. Agree?0

Watch out for the asparagus tips from Aldi.
I got some recently when they were at 99p only to find that night that the actual tips were just about rotten, they smelt terrible and were going all mushy inside. It would have cost more than the refund to drive back to return them so will be very careful in the future with them.0 -
This thread has got so large (& brilliant), I wonder if its worth locking & restarting 2 separate ones?
After all no one would lump any other 2 shops together would they.0
