I saw 7 or 8 police officers pinning down a man outside Aldi last week. Looked like he had a whole backpack full of stolen goodies. oopsie!

Have Aldi upgraded to CCTV now? There used to be one security guard patrolling the aisles at my local, but he's nowhere to be seen anymore.

Security guards at Aldi? Not round here; they're all at the Tesco next door - seriously!

Never seen one in any of the Aldi stores I've visited either. Only in Tesco!

And you know this was stolen because ...... ?
I regularly go through a supermarket with stuff in my pockets that I have bought elsewhere.
  • Just gone to the end of this thread and read the last few post and all I read was nothing to do with "Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl"

No wonder the thread is so flipping long......RANT OVER

Purchased yesterday from Lidl Srirachi Chilli Sauce for £1.79 (435ml). This sauce is normally very hard to find in this country and is currently being sold on Amazon for £6.14.

Note this is great quality sauce, but requires caution to the amount you use because it's really fiery!

Especially the range of dark chocolate.
  • Bought some Aldi jars of Bilash Indian dipping sauces a couple of weeks ago. Mango and Yogurt, and Chill and Garic. Had them with some popodoms last night. Really nice. Don't think they're going to last long.:)
I've noticed that Aldi and Lidl are starting to get their Christmas stuff in already.

I tend to think of it as "War and Peas". :)

Aldi have the posh pasta special buys back, including the really nice Reginette (like narrow strips of lasagne). Bargain at 89p.

They also have some bread mixes at 69p on special buy - anyone tried them?
