I know someone who drinks it (the stuff in the green 1 litre bottles - apparently it's even cheaper than than the 70cl 'bargain basement' variety). She says it's fine, but tastes vary and gin drinkers can be very particular.0 -

I've tried it and find it perfectly drinkable. (again the one in the green bottle). I'd say it's quite similar to Gordons.
My personal favourite is Bombay Sapphire but I don't buy it alot and find that the Aldi stuff is perfectly acceptable for a G&T. Only thing I would say is that any more than a couple and I tend to have a headache in the morning, but don't tend to get that with Bombay.Lea0 -

I bought two last week - one I used for roast and one for pulled pork - both were gorgeous! and I couldn't believe the price!0

As well as the larger reductions around Aldi, there are also a lot of 1p reductions at the moment - is this another price war or price match thing?0

Aldi could be trying to undermine Lidl. The more I live, the more I learn.

The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
I sent a message to Aldi Uk this morning. This was the question.
'Just a question? Does Aldi sell Halal meat?'
Ive just got this answer
'Judi. Thanks for the post. We would like to confirm that all Aldi meat is pre-stunned and Aldi does not label any products as Halal certified. Thanks for your question'
Am I missing something or have they ducked the question? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
