Did you buy the shoulder or the breast? both were on offer that week - because the breast is slightly cheaper and VERY fatty!
never bin anything from Aldi -take it back and ask for a refund. they wont quibble. I rarely have had problems with their produce - but when I have, then they just refund the money.
honestly - the shoulder joint I bought, I double wrapped in foil and put in a slow oven for nearly three hours - and it truly was gorgeous!0 -

In there yesterday and got into trouble for NOT taking my basket to the checkout with me.....as in I put all my shopping on the conveyer belt, left my basket at the end of the till, went through the checkout and packed my stuff into my shopping bags. Woman on checkout gave me an abrupt "next time if you bring the basket through with you!". Tried to ask as it's never been the case before and got ignored0

You must have been incredibly unlucky then, either that or maybe you didn't cook it long enough. It takes around 4-5 hours to produce a mouth-watering melt-in-the-mouth piece of lamb. We've had two now and I have to say it's the most delicious lamb breast I've ever tasted, and trust me, I'm a frightful food snob and very fussy what I eat!0 -

It was the shoulder. Hardly any meat, just fat. I ended up with scissors cutting off the meat I could salvage, and it was just little thin strips .
I followed the cooking instructions on the packet which was 30 mins per 0.5 kg, and 30 mins extra, and it wasn't long enough, so had to put it back in the oven for another 30 mins.
That's the first thing I have ever had from Aldi that I was really disappointed withYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Aldi Houmus (sp?) and Reduced Fat Houmus.
Just like all the other shops, but 55p, not 99p.
Also Aldi Specially Selected Red and Green Pesto. 99p0 -
El Tequito Hot Salsa Dip 300g for 59 or 69p ? at Lidl. Really good. I use it for burritos and quesadilas as well as a dip. Good ingredients too. Very similar to El Paso.0

The new Lidl Turkish Style Yoghurt in the 1Kg tub for £1.49 .
Like the Greek Yoghurt but denser and much creamier ( 10% fat ) so don't eat too much !0 -
I wish she would have a word with my neighbour who packs his shopping into his basket and takes it home with him. He then leaves the basket in the street. And repeats. I have counted six baskets to date. That I keep reporting as dumped rubbish to the council.
Report him to Lidl, as this is theft. (Describe him, so they can look out for and catch him).
This may seem mean, but other customers have to pay for his idleness.0 -
Our Aldi has security tags on the baskets, the cashier said to me that they found some being used as floral hanging baskets once! :eek:0
