The dimpled side of the cushion cover (comes in beige or russet) has a heating element (mains) embedded in it. You can use as it is or remove the cushion and use as a flatter heated pad, which is like my original one.
Unlike a hot water bottle it stays at the heat set (1-6) but has a safety cut-off after 90 minutes. The light flashes at this point, allowing you to switch it back on, so there is constant heat.
They are expensive at £12.99, but I have had two flat pads before (one still works) and they last for several years. The cushion version is helpful for my backache, though, as I don't need to use a cushion and separate pad.0 -
Aldi have done the usual trick with the Specially Selected pork loin steaks, on offer this week.
One steak looked lovely and lean, but the one hidden under the large label was broken up and had fatty patches.
PS They weren't as tasty as the ones I usually buy from Morrisons.0 -

Thanks for that; I'll give it a go.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Yes we need as many as we can type on here until everybody has been converted to Lidl and Aldi.

That's why we need another thread, even the most recent thread, which petered out very quickly, was out of date when this one was started.
In 2005 many of Aldi's current stores didn't exist. The one I used was a 40 minute bus trip and Aldi themselves had only recently adopted their current ethos of quality being paramount. The 5p tins of baked beans were around for a long time!
Aldi now holds nearly 5% of the UK market and is expanding all the time. But by keeping things simple they are keeping costs down for us - no loyalty schemes or online ordering, with a focus on food and drink at the core.
Lots of seasonal specialities in now.
Their range of Christmas cards has expanded, with a choice of two charities to support.
All the cards were secular themes, which makes me a little sad. I like to send and receive at least some cards with The Reason For The Season on them.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... If anyone here has been debating getting a Tefal Actifry, but the cost puts you off. Aldi have their own version in from 13/11 for £70.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Please let us know what you think about the ( enamelled) pan after you have used it a bit.
I used it last night and to be honest, it was lovely to work with. The important things are according to the instructions , NEVER to use metal implements on it (my OH managed to kill several other coated frying pans by using a sharp metal slice, so that applies to Teflon style coatings, too) and not to heat it up empty (what he also did to the others). If the coating gets scratched it turns useless within a very short time. I will really look after this one but will also still use my stainless steel uncoated pan as I know exactly how it behaves.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

My worry would be that I end up making chips every week as a "treat" in order to get my money's worth from it and then get addicted. Thanks heavens there's no choice for me, I just don't have the kitchen space.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
