Did it affect the taste? ;)

No it didn't. Never had fish which fell into two pieces

Had some Aldi's fresh breaded haddock the other day. Very tasty - can't complain at £1.79. But when I lifted up the 2nd fillet out of the packaging to wrap in foil to use another day (ie today) it broke into two.

I had the same happen with Aldi cod fillets. My guess is that they are made of reformed, minced cod, rather than being proper cod fillets. I suppose that's to be expected at the price.

My good buy: a heated pillow from Lidl.

I am on my second Silverline heated slim pad (in velour case), but thought I'd try a pillow and it's ideal for my back.

My only criticism is that the controller doesn't give a digital readout of heat setting, but it does draw attention by flashing when it has timed out.
What's the difference between this and a hot water bottle? (Genuine interest, not sarcasm).

OH is going to buy me an enamelled pan from L tomorrow. He's got his mind set on this although he hardly ever cooks these days. I'm not going to stop him, lol.
I stocked up on the Venison sausages yesterday as they are on special offer this week. The lamb mince is the same price as A's - I love competition, gone are the days when I had to travel to Big Town's T to get it! I went for a good lot of the veg on offer in both shops, so we are well stocked on them, too.

Please let us know what you think about the pan after you have used it a bit.

I'm really impressed with Aldi's multigrain loops...they taste exactly the same as Cheerios, and only £1.15 for a large box :D

How is Aldi's equivalent to Bio Oil?

    Thanks :-)

...and we also picked up some Ostrich steaks this week.
I was looking at those this morning. There seem to be two in a pack, sealed in a plastic covering. I'd want to use them one at a time though, and it wasn't obvious whether you could just cut the pack down the middle with scissors, use one and leave the other sealed. Does anybody know?

Yes you can, they are heat sealed separately (just been in my fridge to check:))

The Haddock from Lidl at the same price is good quality fresh fillet not minced and pressed !
