Having read about it on here I asked when they were going to do credit cards (no signs up or anything). Response was 'I think from November'. Cashier at neighbouring checkout piped up that it may work already so give it a try. So I did and it worked!! Cashier was as surprised as I was. Why do they keep them in the dark?
DH and I split our household bills and it's so much easier to just stick it on the card and pay it off at the end of the month.:money:
Nipped into Lidl yesterday and Flora (Light and Original) was £1 for the 250g pack dated until December.0 -

I like the shampoo that looks like L'Oreal (I think).
They didn't have any last time, and I got some blue herbal shampoo, which isn't that good, I don't think.
I got the green one that looks like herbal essences dazzling shine. My hair is a bit shorter than usual so it's tolerable just now but I'll be going back to herbal essences dazzling shine as it is the best thing for my tangley hair. I think others without tangle issues might think it's fine though.0 -
Thank you for all the shampoo views. Regarding hair tangling, I got some advice from a book years ago, that I reproduce here, about how to wash hair without tangling.
Washing Your Hair - some scientific and expert advice, especially if it is long.
1. Treat your hair gently as you would your face or a cashmere sweater.
2. Brush or comb it first.
3. Wash it long, starting at the top and working down the length of your hair. Never pile it up and rub it with shampoo on the top of your head. You probably have 150,000 individual hairs; tangle them and you are in trouble.
4. Use lots of conditioner, especially at the ends. You can't use too much, unless you have "spaghetti hair" that always hangs straight and you long to give it more body.
5. Rinse it with lots of water.
So much for all those TV adverts that show women piling their hair up and rubbing it like fury to get a lather when shampooing! This method produces less lather but does clean the hair very efficiently.
I have used this method with all sorts of shampoo and conditioner over the years. My hair is shorter now than it was when I first came across this advice, in 2009, but I still follow it.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would love Aldi to do more tinned pulses than just kidney beans and chickpeas.
Make lots of bean bakes, chicken stews this time of year and have to stock up when Sainsburys do 4 for £2. I buy value kidney beans btw. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I was reading Jack Monroe ( A Girl Called Jack) who suggests replacing tinned white beans - haricot beans - with baked beans with the sauce rinsed off under the tap as baked beans are inevitably cheaper to buy. The cheaper the beans the thinner the sauce and the easier it is to rinse off. I tried this for one of Jack's recipes and it works well with Aldi's Everyday Essentials baked beans.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... That's a good point but I think baked beans were a bit cheaper when Jack wrote the book.
I think the best value way is to cook dried pulses and freeze them but that's such a faff. I love butter beans but I'd go without rather than pay the prices some shops charge. Looking at mysupermarket, they're meant to be on offer in Morrisons.0 -
I have seen the Flash version of these advertised and wanted to try them but not at £2 each . Aldi have a version at £1.69 for 6 and they are brilliant . They have cleared all the mud from the dog of the doors, walls and washing machine . They've taken all the grime off the fridge and freezer and the oven . That was all done with one of them! I will warn you though it gets a bit addictive running round making things look new again with no effort !0

Why is this thread under Gone Off again?
I tried some of Aldi's Brussels pate and it had a horrible texture and aftertaste. No issues with other pates. It's the one in a small white tub. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Aldi were already taking Mastercard and Visa credit cards today - signs up too showing that they're now taking 'major' (presumably not Amex) credit and debit cards.
Despite the large signs near the tills, though, their excellent staff were still saying that they didn't take credit cards, and were surprised when the card was accepted. Said they hadn't been told!
Aldi had a big heading on their site homepage about accepting cards when I went on today
After my shop there I called into Lidl and when i was at the checkout asked when they would accept credit cards and was surprised when they said thet already did. They must have done it very quietly as I visit their site and shop at least once a week
Welcome move, I assume they have been forced into it now they are considered more "respectable" does that mean people wont be hiding their lidl and Aldi bags inside M+S bags in future?0
