Bought a packet of the 'Dreamies' look a likes for the cat today. They are called Vitacat Filled Pockets and are only 69p for 65g whereas in Tesco Dreamies are £1.19 for 60g when not on offer.
Gave the cat a few when I got home and she ate them so they're what she will be getting in the future.0 -
If you have Home Bargains near you, they sell chick peas, etc much cheaper than Aldi. 3 tins for £1.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

The flavoured rice cakes are lovely, though the salt and vinegar ones have a very strong flavour. The chocolate and yogurt coated rice cakes are also much cheaper than elsewhere.
Hot drinks: I tried the Aldi instant mocha sachets (with the tea & coffee) the other week and liked them, though best in a smallish mug otherwise they taste watery. The minty light hot chocolate is rather nice too. Diplomat Gold teabags are the nearest thing that I've found to Yorkshire Tea (which Aldi also sell). The Colombian coffee is lovely.
I'm also a fan of the mocha sachets, but they have gone up from 99p for 10, to £1.39 a couple of weeks ago and they are now £1.49.
After an 8 week period of absence chocolate digestives are back in our store, but only milk, no plain yet.0 -
In the interest of balance, with regards to an earlier post, can I say that Aldi,s thick Tomato cup a soup is good as any other that I have tasted.0

Disappointed to notice that my 70% Moser Roth had gone up from (I think) £1.09 to £1.15 today. Not the end of the world but needs watching as it seems way above inflation increase.:( I always feel it's a 'because they can' thing. Unless anyone is aware of reason?0

There has been quite a lot in the Press about rising cocoa prices lately. Of course, that's no excuse (the chocolate in stock was made heaven knows how long ago) but business is business...0 -
I found some Moser Roth Limited Edition chocolate mousse bars with new, Christmassy flavours in Aldi earlier this week e.g. plum & cinammon. They are £1.79 but worth it. I was going to have just one piece per day, but it was impossible to keep to that resolution!
I also tried Aldi's Holly Lane fruit tea loaf at £1.49: another healthy eating resolution buster. Absolutely delicious heated with butter.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I have read somewhere that chocolate is going to go up everywhere - I think it was a particulary bad harvest or similar.... I remember we had the same with olive oil last year and it's back down in price this year.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Aldi's Holly Lane Irish Whiskey cake is also really good for a mas produced cake, too. Highly recommended.0 -
