Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

The £5 voucher in today's Mirror is off a £40 spend at Aldi, not £45 this week. Voucher is valid until next Thursday as usual. There are no 50% off vouchers tho. 30% off ready meals, cheddar cheese, dates and figs, luxury dried mixed fruit, squeezy honey, Gold teabags, lightbulbs, AA batteries and a reed diffuser.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I bought a Daily Mirror for the voucher. Came home and there was a flyer for £5 off £30 in the post as the nearest Aldi is closed for three days for referbishing. I don't visit that one as the car park is small, badly designed and twits blocking people in.
Though can only use it at a certain Aldi store. As the location of the voucher using Aldi us not reached by bus, the take up may be lower. But there are two other Aldis closer to this store on the voucher.
My parents did not receive the flyer even though they live 10 mins walk from me. Giving them the Mirror token. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Got Lidli's Simply porridge oats last night 37p and the nicest looking avocado for £1.
I love the Dark Orange Choc Bar and at 1.09 its just as good as Lindt or Green & Blacks0 -
Have tried lots of Aldis own biscuits (ginger, rich tea, digestive, milk and plain chocolate digestive, Oaties) and they are all fab.
Was at a friends house the other day and they had McV rich tea and they weren't a patch on Aldis.
Also love the dry aged rump steaks and the specially selected gammon.
When I first shopped there it was for the odd item but now I buy more there than the big supermarkets and many people have trolleys overflowing.0 -
not really a product rating but the lad at Aldi's charged me for a bag although I had used one of their old boxes - slightly miffed that I have to look out for that as well now on the receipts, hope it was a one-off....First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

I always use boxes, and have never been charged.
I thought that they scan a barcode on the bags to charge for them.0 -
When I buy bread, cobs etc for my parents, I take a box from the shelf - normally have to remove 3 or 4 items from one and put these on the next box. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
