Was looking for soup with less salt in and found Aldi Chunky Lamb & Vegetable soup - not marked as low salt, but it has about a tenth of the amount of some soups.
Very tasty, with big chunks of veg and small pieces of meat. It's flavoured more with herbs. Personally, I thought it needed more seasoning, so added some pepper.
Half the price of the Heinz version (which is also lower salt than average).0 -

A far better plan!! It takes no time to make some soup in pan, wave cheapo million year old stick blender at it, pot up some for work, rest in freezer. Job done. Spend 35 on booze? Much better value!0 -

Had a message that the £5 off £40 spend is in this Thursdays Mirror, I was considering the soup maker also, easy top up to £40, so will get 2 papers in case I splurge.
The soup maker is good but mine has stopped working after 2 years and DD cant find the receipt. It also uses a fair bit of electric as its like havung a kettle on for half hour.
Very handy but I now use the pressure cooker and blitz it after:o0 -
I had decided against it, thanks anywayDo I need it or just want it.0

Am@zon sent me a soup maker to trial last year that doubles as a goblet blender and I absolutely love it, just one jug to wash up and it keeps the soup hot for ages. Some lovely recipes with it. I usually do spicy lentil as it's so economical.
Unless you have Asian supermarkets handy or huge bulk bags at Mr T's, Aldi is one of the best places to buy red lentils for soups, broths, dhal etc.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I've become an absolute bore about the aldi washing up liquid and Almat
They're superior to fairy and Persil IMO
