Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Aldi's Cote de Provence rose from the Exquisite collection was really lovely this weekend. It is £5.99 a bottle so not the cheapest on the shelf but really nice and light flavour and a good pale colour. I thought it was just as acceptable as the Waitrose Mirabeau at £8.99 and the Tesco Finest Rose Sancerre. Nice bottle too, very pretty.0

re lidl version weetabix - my son also says they are horrid but he likes the aldi ones. Had to throw 2 packets of Bixies away. Don't eat them myself, they all taste like cardboard to me including weetabix.
Oh no! Weetabix brownies are very forgiving of bisks you don't like! Next time...

I had some Chilean Merlot from Aldi this weekend (£3.99). It didn't last long. Neither did the Chenin Banc (£3.49). I am no wine expert, but I really enjoyed both of these.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

Thank you for this! My girls have gone off them and before I feed them to the chickens will give it a goFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
totally agree. I buy two boxes at a time. My daughter loves them. The breaded camenbert and breaded mozzarella are also really good. Far cheaper than anything from the other supermarkets.
Tried the camembert last night and well tasty it was too , served with a side salad ans some crusty bread
Next ? the mozzarella !!A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !

Love Aldi and have shopped there for 15 plus years, tried most things and liked/loved them but have to report disappointment with hair dye. For £2.99 thought it was worth a try but although colour was fine condition of hair after and since has been dreadful and have had to apply loads of conditioners and serums to get anything like the gloss back!DF by Christmas 2014 #78 £18,964.15/£15,000

The two pack of chicken kievs for 99p in the chiller, in Aldi, are horrible.
I think they have put essence of garlic in it because I can only smell the garlic and not taste it. It's just runny oil inside with green tasteless herbs.
Good news is that my dd loves their 12p pots of Everyday Essentials yogs. Huge money saver as she guzzles yoghurts and often wants 2 pots of her usual branded ones.Dave Ramsey Fan[/COLOR]0 -

Have you tried the aldi four pack of chicken kievs from the freezer? Think they are about £1.79 and they are tasty...Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
