Also's alcoholic ginger beer (Church's?) Tastes like Crabbies

Haven't tasted the ginger beer but the Church's ginger wine is very good. Available last week out of the blue but generally a Christmas line.

The loose cherries were on a very tempting low level at my Lidl too, plenty of kids fingering and sampling the goods there too!

Tried the Aldi trigger spray kitchen and bathroom cleaners for the first time the other week.
Normally I get whatever's on offer at Wilko but at 75p for 750ml the Power Force sprays are Good Housekeeping Institute approved. They are the only kitchen/bathroom sprays to have this approval, so that persuaded me to give them a go.

I found them to be really effective. The kitchen bottle is the same shade of orange as a certain top brand and just as good.

Noticed Aldi now sell 'living' lettuce, so that's one less thing to go to Asda for :)

Has anyone tried the packets of Cake Mix in Aldi? They are packaged like mini bags of flour.

  • Hubby tells me that Lidl's version of Weetabix, Bixies, are horrible.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!
  • Aldi's Bellini (Peach juice with wine similar to champagne) for £2.99 was really nice! Comes in a champagne bottle so would make a great gift. I forgot to look at what type of wine it was mixed with but it wasn't dry like some Bellini mixtures I've tried and tasted really full of peach flavour, so maybe avoid if you don't like sweet alcoholic drinks. Going to hopefully buy some more and also try the strawberry version too.

As I'm off on holiday on Tuesday:D I did some bits of shopping in Sainsbury's to tide us over. This was mainly to be able to buy loose veg as I wouldn't be here to use up whole bags from Aldi. Paying over price did irritate.

I'm pleased to report that the veg (cauli, broccoli and carrots) was no better than what I buy in Aldi. I bought it on Friday and today carrots were starting to deteriorate and cauli and broccoli had slight browning in parts.

Just wanted to redress the balance against those who post that fruit and veg are carp at Aldi.

I tried the toffee one as a traybake... it was VERY nice! Very economical doing it that way as well as I could cut it into smaller fingers.

My Aldi has been/was being moved around, as some warned earlier on the thread.
Didn't look a particularly logical arrangement but there was only 1 thing I wanted that I couldn't find. (Tuna in brine, possibly it had sold out).
There didn't seem to be too much grumbling about it.

Milk back to being long-dated again in mine, 26th June and 4 pints for 95p. Jolly good.
