Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

The Aldi Carino hair dyes are brilliant, there's a more generous amount than the pound shop dyes, too much for me for one use.
I have short-ish, fine hair, so I pour half the developer into a plastic bowl and add half the colour, carefully re-sealing the bottle and tube. I use a brush to mix and apply the colour. ( I bought the brushes from the pound shop, along with the bowl, in a set).
I've used the second half of the dye a couple of months later and it was fine, I've also received compliments on the natural effect of the colour. I usually use light or medium brown.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Love Aldi's Savour Bakes Wheat (green box) and Multigrain (red box) crackers. I think they are 69-79p a box. Very similar to those Hovis cheese biscuits in a mustard yellow wrapper. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Been shopping at Aldi a while now, and my new regular buys are...
Aberdeen Angus burgers
Jalapeno coleslaw
BBQ pulled pork (actually not tried yet!)
Ham trimmings (amazing if you get a decent fatless box)
Chilli Halloumi
Bolognese sauce and white lasagne sauce
Aberdeen Angus fillet steak - every now and then as a treat
Has anyone tried the pulled pork - first time I'd seen it last week, hopefully will try it at the weekend...0 -
@ jmcdyre - the pulled pork: :A
lovely smokey flavour & quite lean (a few minor fatty bits to look out for - but that's pork!) .
It's pre-cooked (obviously) in .... um, pieces which I pull apart using two forks.
Absolutely lovely, & a firm favourite here.

Yep, I tried these recently and agree that they're great. I take them to work as a bread replacement as you'll eat them way before they go off so much cheaper than using bread and less calories too. I love them coated in Aldi's yummy low-fat Brussels pate. Makes a lovely snack to keep hunger at bay.0 -
Not keen on Aldi's pink lemonade. Has the same after taste of bitter lemon. Don't have any issues with their other drinks. Its more palatable with some white rum.;):D:beer:
The white rum is Sainsburys own as Aldi's is horrid and the others are not as good as Sainsburys which tastes like Bacardi. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Not keen on Adli's washing products either. The bio concentrated liquid and the So Soft conditioner. Washed a load of sweaty gym gear this evening and it needs to be re-washed as it still smells of sweat
Used the same wash settings as I always do so back to Ariel Actilift with Febreeze for me and Lenor/Comfort.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

agree meat is lovely (and feeds 3 in small portions) but sauce is WAY too hot for us so I am using a different bbq sauce with it. Beware if you don't like LOTS of chilli.0 -
Hmm I didn't think the bbq pulled pork sauce was spicy at all - we did have mayo on the bun with it for a contrast in flavour though!0
