Aw Purpleshoes! As a tutor, when somebody has the guts and courage to give a course a second go, the very last thing we want is for something to go wrong again. I'm not surprised your tutor gave you such good support.

Back on topic, my dear son presented me with a bowl of cheesy chips earlier, made from Aldi's Specially Selected Maris Piper oven chips. Best oven chips ever, made even better. Yum.

Was flicking through catch-up late last night and caught a few minutes of Freaky Eaters on Five. All the American woman ever ate from the age of 5 was potato and cheese....what's not to like? ;)

I didn't need to watch her introduction to salad....

Re the Aldi washing stuff. I use the Almat biological gel and coloured gel and both are the equal of Ariel in my book. I don't use the fabric softeners, as nothing beats Lenor. Aldi do have Lenor on Specialbuy from time to time. Their stain remover (also regularly on Specialbuy) is excellent.

Do you wash gym gear with heavy duty sweat and do you use a fast (60 minute) 30 degree wash?

Ariel Actilift Gel tackles both these and all the clothes come out smelling clean and fresh.

Using the Aldi gel they still smell as stale as they went into the machine and need re-washing. Maybe it's fine for lightly soiled clothes on a long wash but it certainly doesn't suit my needs.

Aldi's non-bio powder is fine, have used it for years.

I do usually get Lidl's Cumberland or pork sausages as in my opinion they do match up to T's much more expensive ones. Shame Lidl discontinued the Aberdeen Angus beef variety. We first got Aldi's slimming Venison sausages when on offer recently but they went in the freezer. Will try to remember to post the verdict once we've eaten them!

I wish we had a Lidl nearer for the Radler. My Aldi hasn't stocked their excellent continental lager shandy for a little while now.

You can get 6 bottles for about £1.70 in Home Bargains at the moment.

Today Lidl are doing Penne at 29p for 500g, probably in response to Morries. offers. Also Baywood reduced to £2.29...8% white/red/rose.

Thumbs down to Lidls tinneds Sardines in tomato sauce, 125g 40p compared to Asda 120g for 50p, mostly sauce in that extra 5g and not nearly such plump fish. The preparation left a lot to be desired too, large lumps of dark unidentified organs still inside. Not too important as I only git them for hiding dogs medication, but wouldn't even feed these to my teenage sons
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

The Aldi mackerel in tomato sauce is lovely. Just had a tin and two lovely big fillets of mackerel with just the right amount of tomato sauce. Tin size is 120g for 59p.
