I'm going to have to be very restrained with myself today as I've already clocked up £120 worth of stuff I want from Aldi on MySupermarket shopping list app but not all is actually needed today/this week so would rather wait for the £5 vouchers to buy the non-essentials.

Yes, they are very good permanent dyes, I used to use the dark brown one regularly, doesn't fade too quickly and covered my few grey hairs. I only switched as I found branded dye in the 99p shop so purely a MSE decision.

Thanks, think I'll give it a try! :)

    Wow
I assume that includes some non food items ?
Apart from buying food and a TV in one shop I've never spent more than £60 in one visit to Aldi

Mostly food with a couple of bottles of wine and a few household & toiletry items. And that was me being rather restrained in just selecting items I know I'll need within the next few weeks rather than extra luxury items I know will also end up in the trolley at some point :rotfl:

Cheap wine in Lidl.... Baywood 8% Rose and white. £2.59p

Wasting your time if alcohol in wine is less than 10.5% white/rose and 12% red.

If your family love meat done in the Season n Shake or Maggi seasoning bags, try this.

Aldi's Bramwell's seasoning marinade sachets. Get 3 sachets for 69p. Buy the roasting bags in places like B&M, Wilko, pound shops. My favs are the hot n spicy and bbq flavours. The sachets don't have instructions for oven cooking, but do the same as the SnS and Maggi and cook for 30-40 mins at 180c.

Normally the roasting bags come in packs of 10 for £1.

So you can have 9 SnS/Maggi seasoning mixes and bags for just over £2 - the price of two of the branded ones.

Well, that was a very pleasant Aldi experience, especially for a Thursday afternoon which I'd expect to be busier than most days :D

Must say, the store layout was very similar to the one I usually use, albeit working from left to right instead of right to left but the items were all laid out in the same flow of sections which made finding things relatively easy. A slightly better variety of goods available too so quite a few extras ended up in my trolley than I had on my list :rotfl:

Had a slightly faster checkout experience than I'm used to but was well prepared and managed to load the conveyor in a sensible manner which enabled me to pack heavy items as they came through into trolley bags and keep the fridge/fresh/frozen items separate for easy packing later.

Spent just over £100 but considering what I bought I did very well so won't need to shop again until the end of the month apart from maybe fresh milk, bread and salad stuff :j

Within 15 miles of my postcode, there are 8 Aldis and 3 Lidls. The distances on Aldi's store finder are questionable as one store listed as 14 miles away - turns out its 50% further. If that town was 14 miles away, I would have visited the town more!

The two nearest Lidls are in 'grot spots'. I go to the other Lidl about once every 12-15 weeks when I drive down to the town which is 13.5 miles from here.

I only walk to the Aldi 15 mins walk from my home if I am just needing 2 bags of life shopping which I can carry 15 mins uphill. Many times I have bought heavy stuff. The other 4 within 7 miles of here, depending where I am going to, determines which Aldi I stop at.
