Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

I looked everywhere for a cheap spiced rum drink after having a punch made from Morgan Spiced at a Christmas market. I found a 70cl bottle of Admiral's Bay spiced rum at B&M for a lot less than the price of a bottle of Morgans. It's not as strong (22% vs 35%) but it tastes fine.
B&M also have a budget version of Tia Maria/Kahlua in the form of Soiree, a coffee liquor, for about a fiver (tesco also stock this one for a higher price).
I know aldi used to do southern belle, not sure if it was discontinued but worth a pop in to check the booze section as they have some nice stuff - the amaretto is good, as it the cocobay coconut rum, the peach schnapps, the vodka, gin, baileys (ballycastle) & Cointreau type liquor. Don't forget it you buy something and don't like it you can return it for a full refundMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !

Our favourite crumpets are the asda smartprice ones - about 37p for a 6 pack. Genuinely tasty and preferred by my family over other brands - I have been told off for buying other ones that were whoopsied!Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !

Back on the value porridge (can't find the post now to quote) . Replacing Aldi's horror porridge daughter has gone back to Lidl's. They've rebranded it (again) now into a value range item "simply" porridge oats. (Why on earth???). Taste is good and unchanged but it no longer says on the packet where the oats are from.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

I'm not sure about that. They certainly sell loose apples (priced per apple) but I'm not sure about oranges.0 -

According to (2012):
https://www.facebook.com/AldiUK/posts/425917087469099
"We are currently trialling payment by credit card in Scottish stores and a selection of Welsh stores."
So presumably the trial resulted in them deciding not to roll it out nationwide.Stompa0 -

Not sure if anyone has mentioned them but Aldi ready to wok noodles are great value- 59p for a pack (that serves two).
The equivalent from other supermarkets can be over triple the price and I think the Aldi version tastes just as nice!0
