Red and white hard cabbages at Aldi are priced at 45p each, in Lidl same item is 45p per kg.

ETA: how long will it take for people to realise Aldi et al are far superior to Tesco!!

I think large numbers of people have already realised it, judging by recent Tesco trading results as against Aldi's.

And by the busy Aldi we have, next door to the empty Tesco which used to be packed with shoppers. :rotfl:

On the rare occasions that I set foot inside Tesco (or the other majors) now everything just seems overpriced. Which, of course, it is.

Aldi have stopped selling crushed garlic in their herbs. Does anyone know why? It's half the price of other supermarkets.

Does anyone know why Aldi accept credit cards in some of their Scottish stores (and I think some of their Welsh stores)?

Very annoying if something costly is on a special buy and it's 10 days before payday. Then you get paid and drive around the Aldis near you and they have sold out or moved the stock away.

It happened with the soup maker and something for the garden which I was planning to buy for my parents last year (£35 mark )

Give it time and I'm sure Aldi will start accepting credit cards right across the country before too long. I'm already noticing changes in new stock lines pretty much every week at our local Aldi. It wasn't that long ago that M&S didn't take credit cards either.

I'm not impressed by their Rice Krispies, not as light and crispy as the Kelloggs ones.. I see a lot of Choc Krispie cakes in my childrens future! :D

Yes, I remember that at one time they didn't have baskets but they probably realised that it was in their interest to provide them.

I have just discovered Moser Roth passionfruit filled chocolate at Aldi: it is delicious.

A thought I just occurred to me.

I remember at school, in the late 80s when we brought in our packed lunches, we got teased for having Tesco or Sainsburys own label crisps and chocolate bars.

Do kids today get teased for having Aldi/Lidl brands?

    No!

Schools are very strict with packed lunches and crisps / chocolate bars not allowed at ours! Of course school dinners provide either sponge and custard or icecream every day...

ETA ***shhh don't tell but I've never had real p!mms but the @ldi version is very nice :D***

And thanks for the heads up on quidco quicksnap! I missed that one!

That is terrible! Banning kids to have crisps and chocolate bars in their packed lunches but having the school serving stodgy puds which contain more fat, calories and sugar than a multipack of crisps and a choc bar! Pot kettle black!

A multipack of crisps and a 2 finger Kit Kat is about 230 calories. A sponge pudding with custard is 450 calories as I cannot see schools using low fat custard and make the custard with WHOLE milk.

I for one hope they do not accept Credit Cards.

I understand that C C companies can charge the retailer up to four percent of the total bill. And that will mean lower profits or higher prices
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
