Perhaps we have a better of class of Aldi here. They even sell posh butter too :rotfl:






ETA: Just wondering what you were trying to insinuate by your comment. That I didn't actually buy the spinach in Aldi? Why would you think that? And why would I say that I had if I hadn't? Genuinely puzzled.

Are you referring to my post? The spinach are indeed Aldi's, the same I bought and also confirmed by MS, I just thought it was a bit funny that someone thought you didn't know where you were shopping....

on all the fruit and veg in aldi is a yellow box the says PLU and a number, and no bar code. but on chameleon's pic there is no code but a bar code, which is why I said the above.


I didn't see the bottom bit of c's post only the butter pic, so never paid it to much attention.


maybe the spinach company is not PLU registered.

we really like aldi but have never seen the fascination with lidl. We went once with my fiance's mom and we chucked half the food away because it was horrible.

Chips (Tasted vile and i like 95% of chips), Quiche (tasted like egg , no cheese taste) , Microwave burger (i think i chucked half of it away - cheese was white , i know those burgers look quite light at the rest of the time but it was very light. and just a horrible taste) , pizza (no taste).
I think there was more but it was quite awhile ago.

Aldi on the other hand i can praise most products , there versions of the horrible lidl stuff taste nice. Plus i looooooove their sausage rolls , probably my fave sausage rolls i have ever tasted. Love the two pizzas in a box , yoghurts , most buscuits & the popcorn. The coke is the best value there is , they put it back down to 39p , when a coke is £2+ i mean wow. Most of the stuff is good.

bagged salad doesn't have a PLU, only items found in produce, not the chiller which salad is.

I was just going to confirm this but you beat me to it! I get their bagged crispy leaf salad from the chiller - definitely no PLU code and it does have a bar-code! And right next to it was the Baby Spinach (as well as several different varieties of salad leaves) all without PLU code!!!
