Their microwave rices are pretty grim too. Have a strange taste to them.
But, the unsmoked gammon steaks were excellent value for money and very tender too.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
That's odd, Bylromarha, it's one of our favourites... I love all Aldi couscous. I sometimes add a chicken or veggie stock cube to the water for a bit of extra flavour
So is Aldi or Lidl better... well...
When I lived in Germany Aldi were always better than Lidl, Lidl over there isn't as big a discounter as it is here. I would have gone under without Aldi to shop in.
I find Aldi better over here too, I used to prefer Lidl as they had more German stuff - Aldi was too British for me - but now Aldi have caught on and realised that there is a big demand for continental grub.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I've never seen spinach in the chillers, it's always with the fresh stuff near the tomatoes etc, if in stock0 -

It was in the chiller alongside the bagged salad leaves and ready-prepped veggies in the store I visited.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I've seen both, I bought some from the veg aisle, allegedly washed and ready to eat but it was all full of dirt, OH had an unexpectedly crunchy salad that day... However another time I went I saw them in the chiller.0 -
All the fruit and veg have PLU code, its so we can enter it into the till as they don't have barcodes. We have to learn them all off by heart.~Chameleon~ wrote: »
are you sure you where in aldi?
there is no PLU code, and there is a bar-code.0 -
