We bought the deep fat fryer.Bearing in mind we've never used one before, we wanted to use it for japanese style dishes.

Only used it once, but seemed to work really well. However it is very small, so you could do prawns or fish goujons. But it's far too small for a large fillet of fish. For us it what we wanted, and was well worth the money. It doesnt have a alarm on anything so I guess you do have to be cautious. It has a 3 year guarantee too

Thanks, that's great news. I'd use it for similar stuff like tempura battered prawns and veggies etc so sounds ideal :)

where are the lidl vouchers from.?

I think the aldi vouchers are valied for some time, so you don't need to use them immediately. lidl may be the same.

I had the kievs fot tea last night and thought they where ok, not very garlicky, but nice crumb, 7/10.:)

I think that's a great shame. When something is not to my taste, I'd rather give it away than bin it.

The £5 Aldi vouchers are valid for a week.

I've been this morning, no problems getting the stuff with the vouchers. Total shop, £39 !

One thing i love are the mini brushcetta, the garlic and parsley ones are fabulous ! 99p per pack.

I've just discovered there's an Aldi in the town where my new weightlifting club is. Popped in there last night to check it out and came out with a full trolley load costing just £70. Well impressed :T :j

    Wow! £70 in Aldi!

Seriously though, do you have a large family or did you stock up on storecupboard stuff?

I shop for two of us weekly and find it hard to spend £30.

No, just me but various members of the family frequently pop in for lunch or dinner. I got some storecupbaoard stuff but around £25-£30 was spent on fruit & veg alone, then there's the dairy and cold meats section, fresh fish and smoked salmon, a bottle of wine, a few household & toiletry bits. It soon adds up!

    Fruit & Veg list:

    Maris Piper spuds
    Sweet potatoes
    Carrots
    Swede
    Leeks
    Onions
    Broccoli
    Cauliflower
    Aubergine
    Courgettes
    Beetroot
    Tomatoes
    Cherry tomatoes
    Spring onions
    Cucumber
    Pak Choi
    Cucumber
    Peppers
    Salad leaves
    Chestnut mushrooms
    Flat mushrooms
    Avocados
    Limes
    Lemons
    Oranges
    Bananas
    Mangoes
    Melon
    Strawberries
    Blueberries
    Raspberries
    Grapes
    Pineapple

I would have normally but I don't know anyone else with this type of coffee machine, and it doesn't keep.:)
