Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Yes, the coupons are on the same page as the vouchers in the Mirror, in a pull - out section, coupons/ voucher on back page. The only thing is the couponed items tend to sell out quickly on the first day- but they do restock through the week.
On the plus side there will sometimes be more than one variety of something reduced - e.g. haddock as well as cod luxury fishcakes were reduced - and people often don't spot this, so you may strike lucky.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... ive been to aldi and lidl before, here and there, so I know the till routine, and a £1 for the trolly.;)
I didn't and kept glaring at the checkout person as they were going so fast and there was blatently no room at the end left to put my shopping while I bagged it up there and then.didn't know about the vouchers though, so thanks for that, :Tare the coupons with the vouchers?
As mcculoch says.
All in the Aldi pull out. I stocked up on cheddar last month as that was one of the coupons, icing sugar on another month, so useful items.
But also treat items too, so I use the coupons to try out things I would have considered an extravegence. The fishcakes last month were lovely, but I'd never had bought them without the coupon.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Yesterday I spent around £50 at Aldi and a voucher would have been very helpful! I bought a trolley full of plants, including some magnolia which I am looking forward to seeing in full bloom! They also had lovely lemon trees, which I resisted on account of the fact it is certain to die in my garden.
One final point - Aldi in Finchley is a haven of good karma, lovely staff and equally lovely customers. :TValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I got a £5 voucher yesterday and was going to ask if its a regular thing in the mirror. I spent £61 so it came in handy. but noticed while in the que that not everyone was using them even though they where over £40, ill let my sister know as she never said anything and she shops at aldi. got told off for not giving it first before the till started, I read the voucher 1st and it never said too, but ill know for next time.
only thing I don't like so far is the coffee, ive got a espresso machine so tried there own coffee alcafe I think it was called, ive had a few coffees made different ways but its not very good imo.a bit week, watery and no depth of flavour but hickory, and it was a No 4, I usually go for 5s but there wasn't any.
I got also a ss coffee from Ethiopia coffee so ill give that a try.
I only bought food stuffs, and a one egg pan.
had fish mash and carrots for dinner and it was fantastic, no complaints at all, carrots smelt great when pack was opened and tasted just as good.
got a german pork sausage salami thing, it was marked at £3.99 but tilled up as £2.99.
as the fruit is all pre packed you cant check the quality and my 1st apple was a bit bruised but was still tasty after I cut them out. a bit small though.
never used any of the coupons as its not stuff that I buy.
it was quite busy and its not a big place, but ive been told that tue and thurs is the fresh delivery days.0 -
The usual daft battle this morning trying to persuade them to accept more than one of the 30% off vouchers in one transaction - 2 vouchers produced, 2 products bought.
This argument happens pretty much every time, they're plain wrong, and even the manager won't budge on it.
'Vouchers valid for one product only' is not the same as the 'One voucher per single transaction' that appears on the £5 voucher, but they don't see it that way.
Anyone else having this problem?0 -

I've bought some excellent plants from Aldi. Particular favourite are the lavender and rosemary 'trees' I got last year. Half the price of similar ones in M&S that died on me and they're flourishing. Bought my SIL a bay tree as a hostess gift, cheaper than a decent bunch of flowers from regular SMs.
I also have spring bulbs coming up in pots. they were those in in 'egg box' type trays last autumn and as I got mine reduced I'm delighted with them.
And I treat myself and DD to cut flowers there regularly, cheap enough to be generous with family and friends.0 -
For those who aren't Aldi regulars, the vouchers are in the newspapers on the last Thursday of every month. The papers regularly sell out in my area on that day !
I've also been told that you can't use 2 vouchers to buy 2 products so it seems like company policy. Just go back another day to use your second voucher !0
