  • If I am reading their web page correctly, you have to have an Egg produce first before you can sign up. Is this right?

  • Hi It says

In order to register you need to have the following..

An Egg Card or an Egg Savings Account (Internet).

Online access to the other bank accounts you want to add. Take a look at the available organisations.

    Internet Explorer 5 or above.

Does that mean I first need to apply for an Egg card in order to make use of the offer, and would applying for one cost me anything?

    Thanks

You answered your own question. You need an Egg Card or an Egg Savings account.

If you don't need a(nother) credit card (it costs no more than would a different credit card), get a savings account.

But what happens if you already have an egg card and access egg details online? If I add a nominal other account will I automatically get the £10? There is no mention of the £10 anywhere as far as I can see.

So could I have already been registered without my knowledge?
My page ( where my egg card transactions are) has a section underneath regarding adding other accounts. Am I already registered or is it Egg's roundabout way of offering one to register without using the word register ( Am I making sense?)
  • well worth it. moneymanager is a fantastic tool to use regardless whether you actually have any egg accounts or not. i believe you may have to open an egg account, but that only need be a simple savings account, you don't even have to have a credit balance. i kept mine at zero, added all my other non-egg accounts and bingo! £10.00. i've done it in my hubby's name too, and yet another £10.00 paid!! gonna get my brother to do one for himself now too.

its a fantastic way of seeing the overall picture of all your accounts, well worth having anyway. :T

Well curiosity got the better of me and I started to download and yes, the £10 bribe offer appeared. I then got cold feet. What about security, all for a tenner?
I might stick with microsoft money instead unless anyone can put my mind at rest

I don't actually *use* Egg's money manager. I prefer to use AccountUnity for aggregation: https://www.ewise.com.au/accunity/aa/home.asp

Another advantage to EWise's is I can carry the login data on my USB Pen and get my accounts on virtually any PC - not an option with Egg; you need to enter the details on every PC you want to acceess EMM with.

That said, I signed up with EMM last year and stuck a defunct account on there. I'm still hassling them over when I'm going to get my tenner....

I've just had a look on the Egg website and I think it looks fine.

I'm going to download it when I get home. It says you will be paid the £10.00 by the end of May.

To be honest I doubt if I'll use it, I have a system as it is and I prefer things seperate, current A/C, Savings, Credit Card.
But I shall have a look anyway.
