Is anyone here from the Cardiff area?
I went to the Cardiff Bay branch at 9 this morning, lots and lots on the shelf. I didn't go mad and just bought what I *needed*!
But I was really pleased to get the Lego City set reduced from £24 down to £6.50!
No other toys reduced in the Bay branch.
Went back at 11 to get one for my friend, and all 75% stock gone! (Apart from those dreadful Dannii Minogue things!)

    How about Town/Albany Rd etc?
June 2009 - Wii; December 2009 - Fortnum & Mason Hamper; 2009 - Little Red Tractor DVD; How to afford time off work book; April 2010 - Mamas & Papas Pram; May 2010 - Imperial Leather Goodies; Jan 2011 - Trivial Pursuit cards; Narnia goodies; VTech cot mobile (stopped comping!) Nov 2011 - Kiddicare cotbed.
  • just to let everyone know ... boots in bluewater - charming, and exhausted boots lady told me they have been sent alot of stock that didnt sell before christmas, from other branches. Seems they were replenishing the shelves and pallets of cardboard boxes of stock were at the back of the store and near the sale shelves. This was 5pm tonight. yes, there were lots of the carousel gift boxes but lots of other gift sets too.

i spent eighty odd pounds and saved over £240!

I was at the Metro Centre Boots today and yes it was manic, couldnt believe how much stuff people were buying......absolutely trolley loads. They must have had lorries outside to transport the stuff back home :rotfl:I got a few bits there as I got most things I wanted from Sunderland store which I didnt think would have much but was quite surprised. Had bought a Day Rover ticket so thought I might as well go to Metro to see what they had. Very happy with what I got today.(not a trolley load).....OOh I missed that man with the sanctuary box and your barney, some people get very aggressive when bargains are up for grabs:rotfl::money:

I went to Sunderland store today too. I got there for around 8:40am, really thought I'd be the only one there (as no one had mentioned that store on here) so was shocked when I seen loads come down the escalator and straight out the doors with bags full just as I was walking in. I was expecting nothing to be left but got two of the big Sanctuary gift boxes I went for plus 1 case and a small gift set. Really struggled to carry them to the car so don't know how others managed who had a few of everything.

Did you see that couple who had stock piled high all along one aisle? Everyone was giving them funny looks :D

I was going to head straight to the metro but was too tired to drive and do more shopping. I think the walk back to the car killed me. I might go back to Sunderland tomorrow and hope theres something left. Would have liked a few different Sanctuary cases but was struggling carrying the ones I had and couldnt get past people.

Did the metro have a lot more stock than Sunderland?

Tania-jo, was there much left in Plymouth today?!
There was still a fair bit at around 1.30. Nothing for men and very little in the way of toys.
I only checked out the one in drakes circus, not sure if the little one at the bottom of town had anything.
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D

    Hi All
Managed to get into my small local Boots at 9 am yesterday. It was crazy with couples and pairs doing pinzer movements on anything of any real value! However with sharp elbows I managed to secure £54 worth of stuff for £18 :T
I was very pleased with my savings and how well prepared I will be for the coming year. I am just managing to come through a horrible divorce and several other high impact life events over the past couple of years and this web-site has kept me sane (well almost:))

Big thanks to all who post x

Yes thank you to all thos who posted, mine was very limited what they had and a certain amount of people just cleared the shelves and had baskets lined up in the aisles filled to the brim, I got the carousel, there was no dove at all, no mens items, just little girls and make up and some sanctuary, there were plenty of mugs but that was about it, did not spend more than £15 oh and made the SA split it so I got the £5 vouchers:rotfl::D

The SA said that a lady spent £260 and asked to have it split so she could get the maximum £5 vouchers andwhy not? Slow for the SA but necessary for us:D

MARTIN LEWIS I said oh yes that is him:rotfl::rotfl::D see if Martin had not advertised it there would have been so fewer people there:rotfl:

Visited my local yesterday and the shelves were almost bare, all that was left was the photo gifts so unfortunately I had to come away empty handed :(
