The 75% off sale is getting worse every year and it will be as bad next year .A few years ago when it was not all over the internet ,press etc it was nice we just used to a have few people waiting to get in and it was a nice atmosphere. It is crazy now and not nice for the staff at all who wants to go to work to get aload of abuse from customers about things like she bought the thing I wanted, you don't have this in,have you bought it all,I only came in for a certain thing you have not got it in they then have a go at you.We have to put up with being shouted at pushed about in some cases being told we are no good at our job if we can't do the things you want because it's against store policy.
Yes at our store staff are allowed to buy some things before store opening i think they do this instead of paying danger money to the staff.Just have a thought for the staff it is not our fault if someone buys a lot of things we can't stop them it is a shop after all. It's also not our fault that we have sold out or head have moved some of our stock to a bigger store that you wanted to buy.
I think if it carries on being this way we will have to go down the route of having one door open and only letting so many people in at a time0 -
Agree hadley, I have no problem with staff or charities getting first dibbs, the staff work there all year and have to deal with some really rude people after all.
Its just the rude ones normally doing it for the money that spoils it for everyone else.0 -
Also meant to say, I do think there should be a limit on what people buy, but I dont expect shopfloor staff to have to impose it. It would need to come from the top and be country wide and well publicised.
You cant expect individual shops and staff to start imposing limits because they would get loads of grief.0 -
Me too. Totally agree with Hadley. The behaviour of some people in the sale is nothing but a disgrace. That's why I could never go shopping in the beginning of sale. I think they should only allow a limited number of people at a time, and probably restrict the number of items they are allowed to buy. I guess I'm lucky that m local boots is not so big, and the behaviour of most customers is really civilised.Love saving, but not sure I'm doing it right!0

I went to Sunderland store today too. I got there for around 8:40am, really thought I'd be the only one there (as no one had mentioned that store on here) so was shocked when I seen loads come down the escalator and straight out the doors with bags full just as I was walking in. I was expecting nothing to be left but got two of the big Sanctuary gift boxes I went for plus 1 case and a small gift set. Really struggled to carry them to the car so don't know how others managed who had a few of everything.
Did you see that couple who had stock piled high all along one aisle? Everyone was giving them funny looks
I was going to head straight to the metro but was too tired to drive and do more shopping. I think the walk back to the car killed me. I might go back to Sunderland tomorrow and hope theres something left. Would have liked a few different Sanctuary cases but was struggling carrying the ones I had and couldnt get past people.
Did the metro have a lot more stock than Sunderland?:)

I got to Shrewsbury at 8.30am, dead on and probally around 30 people there, they were just opening the doors, managed to get in and set a mental budget of around £50, because I always overspend. I filled a blue bag (but did get a few bigger bits) and must admit, most people were only getting about a bag or so - did see a couple of ladies with 5 bags full when I left about 8.50, my friend went in about then, and they said it had gone to about 8 bags full when they left, I really wonder how much she saved/spent, I spent £53 with just one bag! Got presents for people and some Hello Kitty bits for me, so very chuffed, went onto manchester to meet a friend and saw a lot of Boots bags around - and literally just bits left on the shelves approx 2pm.
Thankyou Boots for some fabby bargains! And kicking myself for forgetting my double points voucher!~*Cerenia*~

I meant to go down to Bristol Broadmead Boots yesterday but I didn't feel well, reading a lot of the comments on here I'm glad I didn't bother, although if it had been me who had picked something up when someone said "this shelf is mine", I would have pointed out that the products do not belong to them until they pay for them and taken what I wanted. Boots need to sort this out about people basically stealing trollies from other shops and clearing shelves, its not fair on the majority who only want to pick up a few bits and pieces and who shop in Boots all the time.
As for eBay, I wouldn't buy any Boots product on there, especially now I know how most of these people managed to get hold of them.2020 Wins:
