Boots sale

I don't think those £40 Sanctuary sets I bought are worth half price at £20 never mind £40, probably the reason why there was loads there yesterday.
Totally agree. I bought one £40 set and the red vanity case Sanctuary set which was £25 full price. Personally i think the red set was better. Either way i think the 75% off price of £10 was a valid price to pay for the £40 set. I'm certain my Mother or Sister in law would love it for their birthday.:)0 -
Some of the sanctuary stuff is now on ebay... and the prices they are trying to charge...ouch!!!
Don't get me wrong some of them look like they are genuinely trying to sell an unwanted christmas gifts which is fine (other different items all ending the same time and only 1 item) but some have put stuff up last night which I am guessing was brought yday and are selling 3/4 different sets..
Don't get me wrong, have no prob with people bulk buying for charity etc but to sell on ebay, well that is a cheek!0 -
I agree, the Sanctuary red "leather" look soft vanity case at £25 has three things in - THREE! no wonder they had tons left.
I think that set was worth half price at £12.50 as the items are all 200ml products which retail at £8 - £10 seperate. There was only a few at my local store but shelves full with the £40 box gift set.
I bought the cream case too which I also think was overpriced at £18.00. I kept picking it up in the half price sale and putting it back down as I thought that was still overpriced at £9. The only set that seemed good value was the one I never got:

Buy it now for £23.49 inc postage
I doubt they sold at full price in Boots for £25.00. They were worth £12.50 in the 1/2 price sale but were reduced to £6.25 yesterday so can't see anyone even placing a bid nevermind Buy It Now.
I think we should all watch it (and other boots items on ebay) to get the sellers excitedA home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Ha ha, that would be cruel if it wasn't for the awful way those ebay type people (ok some of them before you have a go) behave at the Boots sale and is therefore funny! Looks like they cleared up on the FCUK bags too as they are selling them and a few other Boots items! NO bids on any Boots stuff - UNLUCKY!
I'm definitely in the Camp of people who think gifts should be limited per item. Other stores do it, don't see why Boots are condoning this offloading of their stock for resale - if that's what they want, why not send to ASOS or their outlets.
PS If anyone wants the cranberry single soaps (Original price £6) or some other soap - looks a bit like a love heart - and a soap that looks like something rude - they've got tons at Canary wharf next to John Lewis. About the same as they had pre-75% sale. I.e. NOWT! Might get a couple for the old peoples home where my friend works if they go to 90% off but otherwise, forget it.
They had also put out some Marc Jacobs Bang after shave balm (whatever that is) and shower gel for a fiver and couple of other mens after shaves incl David Beckham for a tenner.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
I was hoping to get the red Sanctuary case. There was loads there yesterday but I couldn't carry anything else and by the time I put everything in the car I was exhausted! It didn't help that I was parked 10 minutes away from the Bridges, it felt like an hours walk with the heavy bags as she put two of those sanctuary boxes in one bag. By the time I got back to the car I really couldn't be bothered to go back!
Yep this is what I found too. I bought two big Gok toiletry sets the ones that look like jewellery boxes and got a couple of £25 FCUK boxes too, by the time I had this in my two baskets I could hardly carry them, and had to go to the till, then to the car with them. Will definately try and get a chum/husband/son - well anybody really - :rotfl: to help me next year!! One lady said I should take one of the trolley things that carry the two baskets, but I didn't think that would be a good plan because I would have merrily been chucking heaps of stuff in them, but how on earth would I be able to carry everything once it was bagged up. I have no idea how some people managed to carry stuff given that their baskets were heaving with things!!
I did make another three trips to Boots and got good stuff, but, because of the weight I was going back to car lots, Oh to be loaded and have an assistant to carry all your stuff!!:):)0 -
I only bought two of the £40 Sanctuary boxes, one cream Sanctuary case and a small gift set. I struggled to get them to the till as the baskets are so small so could only fit one sanctuary box in. I thought I was going to go head over heels going down the escalator to the till as I had no arms to hold on to the side and the boxes were weighing me down!
I'm surpised Boots don't resell the Sanctuary products seperately instead of selling the gift sets off at 75% off. All the Sanctuary was a baragin at 75% off but most looked over priced at 1/2 price apart from the red case with 3 x 200ml products.
I wonder if all these greedy eBayers will return the stock that doesn't sell, then maybe one or two of those red cases will appear on the shelf in my local storeA home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Please could we design a set of rules for husbands at the 75% Sale for next year I took mine with me as we were away from home.
The rules should start with
1 Who needs a leisurely hotel breakfast when you are not sure where the Boots store is and have not sussed out where the goodies are
2 when you see someone coming towards you in the street and say the words 75% and she grins you must break into a fast gallop as the sale HAS started
3 you must grab what you want not come and ask whether to get something...it will have gone ..when ones wife is adding up the prices of the bits she has balanced in her arms and tucked under her chin due to no baskets
4 you should retrieve baskets AT ONCE when asked to stop aforesaid balancing act by wife
5 You should get in training for the next years sale just in case you are off
6 you should not keep telling your wife about the great bargains... she knows this and now can not impress you with Boots bargains on your birthday and Christmas!!!
Mind you he did help carry the bags so that was wonderful as I got several boxes of biscuits etc to use as raffle prizes and they took up so much room and I love him really!!0 -

I was thinking the same thing yday!! The hand cream in the orange/red box retails at like £7.50 in boots, yet I got the whole box with body lotion, body wash, face mask, heel balm and the handcream for £6.25... less than if I had brought the hand cream by itself!! Madness!!0 -

Your lucky.. My OH wouldnt be seen dead in boots, even with stuff at full price, let alone 75% off... I did send him once with a detailed list for xmas stuff when I was suffering morning sickness in pregnancy.. he rung me almost in tears telling me how it was chaos, apparentley there was 'mental women' everywhere fighting to get down the aisles...:rotfl:
I went to take a photo of all my bargains to post on here... he looked at me as if I was insane so I told him thats what other people are doing... he just looked down shaking his head telling me I had reached an all time low hahahhaha:rotfl:0
