Hello ladies! Right I'm fed up -- I have a nasty stinking head cold and my ear hurts. Every time I cough or sneeze I have to hold everything down there really tight and STILL a bit of wee comes out, it's depressing me!

Also I have a question please -- I've been getting pins and needles in a little area just below my ribs slightly towards the right. It feels a bit numb and is mainly when I'm sitting a bit too forward. It doesn't hurt, it just feels strange. Does anyone know what this is?

I have my 28 week appointment with the MW this Sunday and very excited because my 25wk appointment with the GP didn't seem as fun as when I saw my MW! Looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again as the baby has not been quite as active the last couple of days but very twitchy! Hiccups?

I read Sexymouse's Gender Disappointment and all your replies with interest. We chose not to find out the sex and I am secretly desperate for a girl. I am so glad I chose not to find out as I don't know how upset I would be if it's a boy. Equally though, lately I am wondering if I will have trouble bonding with the baby as I don't know what sort of baby it will be at the moment! Does that make sense??

I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to think about the birth... Had my ears syringed on Tuesday and it really hurt and all I could think of was -- this will be nothing compared to the birth!!

Am looking at getting a book soon. I saw a couple of WHSmiths the other day and will report back when I've made my decision.

My friend has lent me her set of hypnotherapy CD's for pre-, during and post birth. Just want to try it for the relaxation aspect to be honest so going to load it upon my iPod this weekend. Will let you know how I get on!

Congrats to the new mummies and babies and good luck to everyone else x

    Foo Foo ...

This is brilliant! Another issue I need to raise...

OH and I are trying to settle on what we're going to call 'the bits'. For a boy I think it's easy; nowt wrong with willy. But we can't agree for a girl. I'm not sure I'm very keen on girly euphemisms like foo-foo and mi-mi and I'm veering towards 'front bottom'.

The OH thinks this is madness. We just can't agree :(

Ive never jelled with the term front bottom.. it jsut sounds so wrong to me :o i called the girls bits their tuppence.. but it turned into tumptumps by them lol. Last night whilst trying to have a wee by myself in the bathroom... Maddie walks in and says to me at the top of her voice... "mummy your tumtumps is very big isn't it?! and will be bigger by the time the baby has come out of it" bloody cheek!

kids can be so damned rude! she's desperate to stay and watch the birth after watching every episode of obem... however she would describe in gory detail everything that happens to anyone that would listen sooo she will be going to my dads!

I'm with you on this; I hadn't heard of foo-foo until someone at work (a bloke) was telling me about his ex and used that term! I fell about in hysterics and have never been able to take it seriously since. I can't get along with front bottom either though! Not sure what we will go for - willy/winky/pee-pee for a boy is fine but for a girl I guess it may be Mary, or tuppence although I do know of other parents who refer to it as fanjita!

Haha! Maybe she'll be a midwife when she grows up :) I remember watching a programme a few years ago about teen mums and there was a girl there that had a home birth in a birthing pool. She was only 16 but they had the whole family round to watch! Aunties, Uncles, Granny and little kids, they were all sitting around the pool eating sandwiches like they were watching a film! Then they took it in turns to look at the baby crowning! Definitely not for me! When the time comes it will be just me and DH, I definitely don't want my mum or grandmother having a good gawp at my lady bits! ;)
