Bad mother to 2!
Bad Mother's Club member #40 -
Thanks ikkle - I have a feeling this one's a boy too, but will be pleasantly surprised if they say it's a girl - Moon says he is happy either way as long as it's healthy, but I think he'd prefer a boy really. I must admit I do prefer all of the boys' clothing around at the moment though.
Went to Aldi today after a rather disasterous morning - was meant to be working all day, but got out to the car to find it wouldn't start. The supply agency had to get someone else to cover my only day of work this week, and unfortunately nothing came in for this afternoon. Moon managed to jump start the car this morning (4 days without use meant the battery didn't charge and was obviously low as had to jumpstart it the other week), and I went straight to Halfords. Cost me nearly £80 as there was only one battery that fitted my car, so I didn't really have any options.
On the plus side, it meant that I was able to go to Aldi to take advantage of their baby event. The cellular blankets didn't seem to be particularly good quality (someone had unrolled one), so I gave that a miss. I bought the white fleece blanket (not particularly practical, but I guess stains can be bleached if they get really bad?), the first size body suits (twin pack of one plain yellow and one cream one with a cat and a dog on the front), the first size sleepsuits (one plain yellow, one cream with a cat on, one cream with a dog on), the white hooded baby towel (has a bear embroidered on it - same as the blanket), and the muslins (3 pack - 2 plain white, one with bear pattern). The muslins don't seem that great visually (although I'm not really an expert and haven't got them out of the packet yet or washed them), but I thought they would do. I didn't bother with any of the bottles etc, as I want to get the MAM anti-colic starter set as I heard they are meant to be really good. (I hope to breastfeed, but you never know, and these are meant to be good for combination feeding etc).
Moon and I are off to Southampton after the scan so that we can go to the big Babies r Us and try the pushchairs etc out. We can also pop into Ikea to look for white bedroom furniture to go in the nursery to match the cot then too, as well as primark for towels etc.
For anyone looking for a dark-coloured nightie with buttons on, Asda have one on their website at the mo that looks cute - £10 may be a bit expensive though if they take it off you - still it's nice for afterwards.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I thought that about the aldi cellular blankets too. I'm going with my nan tomorrow as we have a few other stores around the Aldi so will kill some time after the doctors.
I've got a few pram sheets but nothing for the cot yet. Think we are holding off buying anymore blankets and stuff till the scan as I have so much cream stuff it is untrue.
I've been sorting the spare room out when I've felt up to it and have sorted the clothing we have out into sizes and then each size has it's own drawer in a plastic unit we have then I have another unit for bedding and blankets and then a baby changing table with all the nappies we have accumulated on it with wipes/baby toiletries/cotton wool etc.
Need to buy some paint and measure for the carpet soon but I keep forgetting to take the tape measure up with me lol xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Evening all you ladies and bumps, I hope you're all well. (for those of you who don't know me I was on here before and had my little girl in January...) I've been clearing out my pregnancy stuff recently and I have a bottle of barely used Holland & Barrett Raspberry Leaf capsules going spare if anyone wants them. They were opened in January and I probably had about ten, and then have been in a cupboard ever since. Anyway, I'm happy to stick them in the post if anyone wants them. Just PM me as I can't keep up with all the chatter on here any more!
I hope you're all going to come join us on FB once your babies have arrived, it's a fab group of ladies, all from here originally, and we talk about all sorts (although mainly babies, lack of sleep and cake...). It's a private, closed group so you can share pictures etc of your LO if you want, in privacy. Just PM Gillyx (there are others but I think Gilly is the most frequent on MSE-er still) as and when with your real name and she will send you the link for the group.
Good luck to those in labour, and hugs to all who want them!

Oh I know what I meant to ask.... does anyone elses boobs go really hard? Some days they feel soft and squidgy but other days they are so heavy and hard and i just wondered if its normal? My nipples are still uber sensitive and a bit itchy too.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Millie congrats on team blue. So many boys for September! And good luck for tomorrow SM
Laura no wonder you're frustrated. You obviously know what you're talking about so you can decide what is worth taking and balance it. Bit sad to think we trust the GP/midwives to know their stuff. Well any nutrition questions we'll be quizzing you from now on!
I'm all tucked up in bed so hopefully no heartburn. Not had any milk since this afternoon and taking handful of heartburn stuff as a precaution. Very sore after a busy morning so really hope I sleep well tonight.
Good night all, hope everyone has a heartburn and pain free night. A hugs to those that need them and labour vibes to those wanting them xxx:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Congratulations Milliebob on team blue
I've updated the list. We're not telling anyone either as DH wants to keep it a secret from his parents but it's so hard because I keep referring to the baby as he all the time even though we're still not really sure we're team blue until Monday. I'm bound to slip up at some point.
Good luck tomorrow SM, maybe you'll double our count of team pink for September!
