Tea is always a winner, it's true when you drink it burns but it calms it. I'm taking ranatadine too when needed. You can buy it in pound shops or cheaper in bm bargains. I tried gaviscon years ago and I thought I'd puke forever blah nasty stuff. May avoid milk for now
just as I stocked up on banana milkshake powder.... Oh well off to put the kettle on

Afternoon ladies
After having a lazy morning I've actually done some housework this afternoon. I've unblocked and cleaned the kitchen sink, done the ironing, put the washing away, washed up and vacuumedMy back is hurting now though so I'm sitting down with a cup of decaf tea, some biscuits and a Tesco mini fake mars bar (these are very yum by the way! Nicer than proper mars!;))
Dizzi, I'm terrible for falling asleep during films and tv programmes too!

Hi all! Wish I had known about drinking tea for heartburn - I suffered with it terribly in the first trimester and was sometimes doubled over in tears with how bad it was. Tried Gaviscon at the time which helped a little but not much. Ah well, if it comes back again I know what to do!
Think I'll give the Avengers a miss from what you have all said - OH wants to see American Pie in any case so I guess we'll head out and do that this weekend. Will be nice to actually get out and do something together - he is usually too tired to do anything cos he's working stupid hours at work trying to get a project finished (deadline is end of this month and they're nowhere near finishing - eeek!)
Managed to find a really nice topshop dress on ebay last night which I won - yay! Just realised that we are on holiday a week Saturday so I now need to go through my wardrobe and work out what I actually can wear! I might have to do a bit more bidding on ebay in the next couple of days! We're not going abroad or anything (was too paranoid about falling ill and ending up in a foreign hospital and not understanding a word of what was being said to me!) and I don't think the weather is going to be great but I am just looking forward to getting away for a few days and doing something different!
And why is it that I can't seem to stop eating at the moment? I've been really piggy today and last night I devoured a Ben & Jerry's core ice cream tub (Large one!) It was yummy - vanilla icecream with white chocolate flakes, raspberry icecream with raspberry pieces and a choc fudge core centre. I didn't even feel guilty afterwards! I know I am going to eat tons more when I get home too, we've got a home shop being delivered tonight! Ah well, I'm teaching ZUmba at 6pm so I guess I will have worked up an appetite!
Going to dig out my old exercise ball tonight as well; may sit on the ball tonight whilst watching tele!
Hope everyone is having a good day - good luck to those in labour/on the verge! x0 -
Right, that's work finished until April 2013! :j
Lovely lunch (although very embarrassing at first, I used to like being centre of attention but I can't bear it now...at least not unless I have a few vodkas inside of me!) and have some lovely gifts and a yummy cake (what's that you say? Have it all to myself? If you insist!)
Now the exciting adventure begins...I can start on my 'maternity leave list of things to do'...life is great! :j:D
Hope you have fully recovered now gtothec, what an orderal!
Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon xMFW!

Still so many posts to go through!! I've picked LittleMoogs to help me remember as it struck the best cord with me!
Well done Triangle for your last day of work - how odd it must feel to not go back until 2013  Qualifying in 3 weeks, I've got a new job to start once little one is about 10 weeks, if he comes on time but luckily is only 1 full day a week and he should just spend half a day in nursery with hubs picking him up after uni - already feeling guilty about itbut have to remind myself a happy mummy is best and I would feel awful having no job to return too, especially with hubs as a final yr student. eek, all getting so close now but luckily I am still 50 on the list!!
We went to see Avengers last week and despite the fact it finished at 12:30 am and I had an 8:30am start(!!) we both really enjoyed it. My hubby is also a marvel geek but he hadnt seen Captain America (phwoarrr!!) or Hulk, aww Mark ruffalo but we managed to cope pretty well. Have to agree with those who found ~Thor and Captain America the yummiest, well worth seeing for them
Baby boy been a lot more acrtive the last couple of days, instead of just kicks at night, im getting odd rolling sensations. Have the midwife tomorrow so i can ask some more about group b strep and check he is okay in there!LittleMoog wrote: »
Re: the Avengers, my DH is a huge comic/superhero geek, so we went to try and see it the day it was released, but it was sold out! I thought DH might cry with disappointment, he was in such a strop all evening! :rotfl: We went the next night instead, and actually booked tickets. We never normally bother as I've not seen our cinema more than half full for years. It was full again on the Friday though, obviously a popular film. I liked it, but I like that sort of film anyway (good thing given my DH!). DH is already making plans for how we'll get someone to babysit over Christmas so we can go and see the Hobbit film, though if it's as long as the LOTR films I doubt we'll be able to leave Beanie for so long by then.
My husband has already told me he will be going to see hobbit so we had better find a babysitter!!! I keep being told to read the books but can't quite stomach it...
Went to pilates last night and felt uncomfortable doing front lying exercises for the first time. Don't think i'll be able to do them for much longer. It felt like much harder work than normal, especially the exercises focussed on abs.
Can't remember how many weeks you are now but I started to feel uncomfortable on stomach at about 17 weeks teaching dance and 19 weeks in my pregnancy yoga. At 25 weeks i did a hard core dance class yesterday and there was a few on my stomach so i just changed the exercise slightly - might be worth making sure your teacher remembers what you have told them, any good one should always have alternatives for each ability.
Alizee, sending lots of labour vibes your way, hope you'll be getting mummy cuddles later today! Agreed!
GtotheC, that's so annoying about the carpark/hotel, I would be fuming too. The first time we did a mystery shopping assignment, our car got locked in the car park. There was a notice saying we couldn't get in til the next morning but to ask at the police station?! so we went to find them and were luckily let into the car park but i feel for you - we are forever putting things back for fear of overspending and then having silly bills to pay for.
Turtlemoose, I can't believe how rubbish your hospital wereFingers crossed your midwife can suggest somewhere alternative.
