Er.....no idea on snacks really. Are bananas recommended for labour. Used to snack on them at work when energy levels were dropping, guess you can't really pack them in advance tho. Some kind or cereal bars that you know you'll like?

I found out that drinking milk can cause a worse problem with heartburn as it has a rebound effect by triggering further stomach acid to be produced. I was drinking loads of the stuff before seeking GP advice, and certainly found that initially it helped, but the heartburn came back fairly quickly. Mind you, I'm finding that Gaviscon seems to be having the same effect at the moment, so I may have to go back to the GP AGAIN! (Was on omeprazole, and that stopped working, so she gave me the gaviscon, but that's not working now either - hoping that Rinitidine will be offered next and may work, otherwise, I've no idea what to do.)

I thought that zantac was the brand name for rinitidine.

I've never really suffered from heartburn but my husband has started to suffer really badly at night time for some reason. He has tried Gaviscon and that wasn't working so he was going to go to the Doctors, when somebody he works with suggested having a hot cup of tea. He said it burns like mad when you drink it, but as soon as the tea has gone, his heartburn has stopped! He was suffering really badly as well and having to sleep propped up!

Might be worth a shot for some!
