Wow it's all been on the go since I last checked on here!
Seems to be a little flurry of MSE babies on the way.....I'm keeping my legs crossed and hanging on to mine a little while longer, we don't have a cot yet!! eeek!!!
I FINALLY got discharged from hospital at 6pm last night, been sent home with beta blockers and have a home visit from MW today to check all is ok. They really p*ssed me off, after the fiasco in the first place, they then kept me in overnight on tuesday night AND DID NOT MONITOR ME AT ALL. I was awake until 3:30am (they put me on a ward where they were bringing the women in labour before transferring to delivery suite - not quiet!), I dozed off but was woken up at 5:30am by more labouring mummies - it would have been much better to send me home for some decent sleep in my own bed and make me come back first thing in the morning!
The eventually gave me some BP medication (labetalol) at 10am, told me I needed another dose at 2:30pm....despite OH chasing them, me chasing them etc, my second dose did not appear until 5:30pm, only 3 hours late eh! Absolute idiots.....I REALLY am thrown about what to do as I do not want to give birth in that joke of a hospital.....will have a chat to my MW when she comes over today....she's a bit battle-axe-scary sometimes but also really knows her stuff so I trust her opinion.
my bargain £3 changing mat from Halfords arrived today, but I am too pregnant to rememer who gave out the link, so whoever you are, thanks! It looks really handy for just popping out and about.
Also Mr Postie brought me this today - for only (inc postage) £5.99 on ebay...bargain and it's so cute!

Oh, and heartburn!! I've been sharing my bed with a pack of Rennie for about a month now, I find it comes whenver it wants to, despite my best efforts, so I just give in and have one or two rennies if it wakes me up.
Stretchmarks.... I got terrible stretchmarks during puberty (breasts, inner thighs, outer thighs, hips, underneath stomach horizonatally)...which was very unfair as I was very very skinny the whole time!! I think I just grew too quickly (I ended up 5ft 10). They were angry purple when I first got them but over the years have faded to pale silver, and as I am rather pasty pale skinned anyway, they just blend in and can't be seen. Pregnancy has been kind to bump (so far! with twice daily bio oil rubbings, it was on half price at lloyds pharmacy a while ago), however it seems to have re-used exactly 5 each side of the puberty stretchmarks on my hips!! So I can't complain about having NEW stretchmarks, but I still have them and they are rather angry and purple! However I'm hoping they will fade as they did before, plus I find bio oil effective at lessining the appearance of blemishes/scars etc in general with my skin so I'm cautiously optimistic about them fading again.
Right I'm off as supposed to be working from home today, not reading what you are all up to, so I'm off to get something done. Tomorrow is my last day at work, unless midwife decides otherwise today (hmmm!) ....exciting stuff!0 -

or imply anyone else was a bully. We have cut ALL contact with ALL his family due to their abuse of him in his childhood and continuing into adulthood.
I'd like to make clear he's not ALWAYS like this but little things build and then he blows. anyway erm..i don't really have anything else to say
sorry once again.
No offence taken.
It sounds like it's more learned behaviour due to his upbringing in that case. As fluffnutter say's he should seek counselling of somesort after all he's going to be a father pretty soon & if he doesn't address his behaviour then he will lose his new family too.
I hope things get easier for you hun.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

do you have another localish hospital? I'd speak to the midwife and see if you could transfer care maybe? xBad mother to 2!

Hello ladies,
I think I get the prize for the worst night's sleep last night.
Went into a big city which is nearly 2 hours away. Did a bit of last minute shopping (EDD Saturday), being quite frugal, putting things back that we couldn't really afford etc. being very good...
Then we decided to watch a film in the cinema just to finish off a nice day. Film was the Avengers which I thought was just OK. Found it hard to follow although possibly just due to me not being able to concentrate!
Got back to carpark. LOCKED.
At this point it was 10.30pm and raining. No choice but to book into a hotel. It could have been the most comfortable bed in the world but I tossed and turned all night thinking of the injustice of it all! Putting back things in Mothercare that we couldn't really afford and then wasting money on a crappy Ibis hotel and being charged for the carpark by the hour.
I'm still struggling to put it out of my head! aaaggghhh. rant over.0 -
Hi MM no unfortunately not...if OH could drive then maybe but he can't, so the trip to the delivery suite will be taxi so I don't have much choice.
The only other hope is that I go a week overdue (not sure I'm prepared to hope for that!!) because a brand new midwife led unit is supposed to open just after my due date....but like I said, don't htink I can bring myself to wish for it hanging on!!!0 -

It might not matter that your oh can't drive... just a thought but if you do speak to your MW about another hospital taking over your care, then you could get a ambulance to the hospital? I was asked if anyone drove and if not it would be a ambulance ride in.. So that maybe on route to go if you are not happy with the hospital you have been given. i would seriously discuss all the options with your MW to see if there's anyway you can avoid being somewhere you don't want to be. you can but ask!x

Ooh, don't paramedics hate being called out for women in labour? I don't think they see it as the best use of an ambulance... (unless you're actually at the pushing stage!)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I'm not actually sure what the paradmedics think...it's what my mw told me to do! however its irrelevant to me as i'll be staying at home..:p just trying to think of options
