I just had the attitude with stretch marks that if you're going to get them - you're going to get them really. I shoved whatever moisturiser I had to hand on on the rare occasions I remembered.

Hi guys - I am in so much pain I don't know what to do - contractions are irregular and have been all night I've only managed 2 hrs of sleep - they are so painful though - I have quite a high pain threshold and I can't talk or sit still through them I'm nearly in tears! It just feels like I'm not going anywhere because they are not regular so I am probably not dilating anymore?
I don't know what it's meant to feel like but surely not this painful if I'm not in labour yet. Could this be because of the sweep?

Emsbet that is so lovely about your dh feeling his first kick - such a special moment for all three of you x
Amymo congrats on your little one.
Good luck to everyone that needs it. I think I'm going for a bath again

your contractions don't have to be regular to be diluting you I never had regular contractions untilnear the end and that's why they put it on paper that my labours where 1 hour 30 as that's where they time it from,if your in to much pain I'd just go in to hospital then at least you know if things are progressing

Sounds like your contractions are causing you distress. If you can't speak through them or sit still through them, then they are doing their job and you are probably in labour now...BUT you should prob give the hospital a call and say they are distressing you. they might want you to go in as you've had little sleep.. and an exhausted mummy to be is not good! They may give you some pain releif so you can sleep? I'd ring them and see what they say. sending ((((((huge hugs))))) xxx

((hugs)) Alizee, as the others have said, if the contractions are so painful you can't talk and you're struggling with them then give the hospital a call. They may want to check you over or at least give you something for the pain so you can rest a bit.

Aww there are some lovely things on there! But I've promised myself I'm not going to buy any baby clothes, as we have plenty of newborn - 3months, and plenty of time to buy or get given 3months +. Also we don't know the sex so can't buy any nice (non-pink of course!) dresses.

Ru hungry? Sounds odd but I get worst heartburn when I'm hungry. Try some toast?

I'm aware cos I'm in more pain. Hips and back are stiff and sore. Not a happy bunny at all. :(

((hugs)) rjh :o Hope you're feeling a bit better now. I always get heartburn when hungry too - I figure it's cos the stomach acids are swishing around with nothing to digest...or something! I've got a packet of antacids next to my bed and chew on one of those if it gets bad in the night - more palatable than Gaviscon!

BIG ((hugs)) to you Alizee. Have you spoken to your midwife or phoned the delivery suite? Ok so they might tell you to stay at home a bit longer, but at least they're aware that you might be on your way soonish. I was told that in the early stages of labour, if you can't sleep, walk around as much as you can - get baby in the right place and that'll kick off contractions a bit? Also (and please don't hit me, LOL) have you taken any paracetemol?! I know it prob won't touch it, but won't do any harm and might take a tiny edge off the pain. BTW I think you can safely assume you are in labour! Good luck today xxx

OOh I think my doors have just been delivered...back soon!

BB, I had a visit from health visitor last week, spent about an hour chatting about things and was given a mini library :)

Today is my last day at work!:j I can't quite believe it. Going in very shortly and a nice lunch do has been planned according to one of my lovely colleagues. I also have a sneaky suspicion that this lovely lady has arranged a little party at her house tomorrow night for myself and another pregnant lady at work due 4 days after me :)

Have a great day all - oh and Emsbet: how on earth did I get into the 20's on the list??!!

    Helloooooooooooo!!

Wow, I haven't been on in a week and theres like a million pages to catch up on you chatterboxes!!

I havent read back yet but am going to do it right now as I just wanted to say hey first :)

Got my growth scan today at 1pm to see if baby is a fatty boom boom or not :D ! Not too worried though, will just see what happens, fingers crossed he's a normal size for my dates and we can just go ahead as normal!

Currently sitting here staring at our brand new car seat that my mum and dad bought us, I'm keeping out of the box so I can just stare at it constantly! We got the MaxiCosi Cabriofix in 'Intense Red' and I love it! Its making it all seem real now, 7 weeks to go! (or less if baby is a hunk-a-chunk!)

Right, am reading back and will speak to all you lovely ladies soon! xxx

That's the one we've got. Lush isn't it? And our pram/pushchair thing's red too.
