I'm considering starting a company making birthing space hoppers... would be much more fun as a way of getting the baby out.
Oh yes. Imagine if all the mums took them to hospital with them. Racing down the corridor. I love this idea!!! :rotfl::T:rotfl:

hehehe that would be fab :D i have fond memories of DD1 racing down the corridor at the 3 letter hospital in a peddled racing car down to her annastetic (sp?!) room to have her tonsils out. She ran over one of the surgeons :rotfl: he was very nice about it though :D

Tens machine - I loved it, got me through the first 24 hours of labour with no other pain relief apart from 2 co-codomol and I will be using one next time :D Re the bath, they have been known to slow labour down, and I found it done naff all for me, especially the baths in hospital without bloody handles so I had nothing to hold onto during a contraction!

Bottle feeding - naff all wrong with it. I had my heart set on breast feeding and really wanted to do it, through different things happening I could only give breast milk for 3 weeks, I still beat myself up about it, but it's one of those things, as long as baby is being fed that's the main thing :D especially with a teeny baby, they need food, you're hardly gonna let her starve, that'd be bad parenting ;)

Talking about baby groups, I ventured to one at my local Sure Start Centre and it was awful! I was one of the oldest Mums (I'm 27!) and nobody spoke to me and most spent the whole hour staring at Poppy because of her oxygen. Really put me off going to another group, though I'm sure there are some wonderful groups with lovely people, I'm not willing to feel like that again to find out. Luckily I know a few ladies with babies so I just meet up with them a few times a week.

How's Poppy doing jannine? I miss all you ladies posting on the newborn thread now you've all disappeared to the fb group instead ;)

    xx

Nutella - hope the induction goes well and thanks for the reassurance re babys position.

got a call today from GP - iron count low (14), so they have a prescription waiting for me. cant really believe it as my multivit has 21mg of iron in.

re tens machine - i was thinking of this as an option. i know someone who used this for early labour then used birthing pool. i think this is what i will end up doing.

just blew my nose so much to clear it (cold) i have given myself a headache.

re mother and baby groups, i havent really thought about this. my sister has two young children and works part time and my mum is retired so have a few family members to keep me interested plus i am also a part time nutritional therapist and have plenty to be getting on with my business. what about the national childcare trust get togethers? i would expect these to have more mature mums in - they do charge a monthly rate to join i think

    enjoy your evenings ladies,

    Laura

Not fair - I now want a bright orange space hopper with that freaky little smile instead of my stupid boring blue birthing ball!
    MFW!
    Started 1/12/22 - £196,000

    Saving targets 2023
    Mortgage Overpayment £0/£2000
    Bathroom £0/£2000
    Big Birthday Trip £0/£2000
    Long Term Saving Pot £0/£2000
  • I looked up NCT earlier after we were talking about groups. It's £4 a month to join. Seems to be a few bumps and babies things near me.
Laura hope the new prescription boosts your iron. Can you take that and the multivitamin together?
