Just at the docs with Tristan trying to get his reflux sorted. First time I've took him out myself and have managed the pram/car seat combo. Very proud of myself.
How's you?

Nice to hear from you Happy. Hope Cal gets better soon and Tristian's reflux is sorted.
Well done on the pram, I'm intending to do some practice before the baby comes! It looks simple enough now, but not sure how to do it when juggling a baby lol.
Re: tens I'm thinking that i don't realy want pethidine or epidural so a tens would be good. I'd rather have one there incase I want to use it. I've a feeling that they won't be happy with a water birth as I'm "high risk" so we'll have to see. But if they're only a tenner to hire I think it'd be worth it. Oh so much to think about :eek: Saying that I'll prob get to the hospital and take anything they give me
Emsbet if you're not feeling great, just have a chill out afternoon. No point to overdo it and you'll just feel worse.
Just watching Maternity Ward, the woman is too scared to push cos the baby is big. I missed how big though. The dr just said, she doesn't realise but the baby is coming regardless. Wow it just popped out he was nearly 10lbs. Bit late to cross your legs at that point though :rotfl::j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Hello all
Just a quick update, haven't had time to read back, so apologies for not commenting on any of the posts.
Spent the morning at the hospital - had a 40+2 midwife appointment. Baby is fine, head down and nice and low, heartbeat good etc. They attempted a sweep which did nothing, but then discovered that my blood pressure has gone up quite a bit.... which led to lots of hanging around and a consultation with a doctor. In a nutshell: I have to go back this evening to be induced  Not happy - there goes the waterbirth... - but as long as baby and I are both safe that's all that matters. So will be spending the night at the hospital (NOT looking forward to that!) and will then have a baby in the next day or two
Hope everyone is well - see you on the other side!0 -
LMM, that's the plan, just had a cup of tea, a biscuit and a weetabix (to stop me having more biscuits
). I just feel so guilty when DH is out at work all day if I haven't anything to show for my day. He's really good about it and would be the first to say he'd rather I relaxed than over did it but it doesn't stop me feeling like a bit of a waster
I applied for some more jobs this week but I don't expect to get them as even most temporary jobs I've seen are lasting 6 months.

Talking about baby groups, I ventured to one at my local Sure Start Centre and it was awful! I was one of the oldest Mums (I'm 27!) and nobody spoke to me and most spent the whole hour staring at Poppy because of her oxygen. Really put me off going to another group, though I'm sure there are some wonderful groups with lovely people, I'm not willing to feel like that again to find out. Luckily I know a few ladies with babies so I just meet up with them a few times a week.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Relax now whilst you can! I'm the same as you though, I feel guilty that my husband is out at work for 12 hours a day doing a stressful job and some days I'm sat on the sofa watching telly and having lovely baby cuddles! Some days I'll admit to not even getting dressed! I'm determined to enjoy the time though, I'll be back at work in November (noooo!!) and life will be back to being hectic!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

this must be the fastest moving thread of all time.
ok so this is my labour tea recipe that i was given last time around - tried this and a bit of sexytime so who knows what did it!
To a pan of one litre of water, add one cinnamon stick, 10 cloves and a 2cm piece of fresh ginger. simmer for 15 minutes, then add 5 drops of lemon verbena oil. add honey to sweeten and drink.0
