    Hey everyone,

Good luck for those that could have babies very soon!

I won some baby show tickets today, chuffed. Going to go on the sunday I think.

I'm wondering about tens machines too, but fancy a water birth and any pain relief I can take!

What's everyone doing re moisturising? I have been using some sanctuary mother to be bits which I have run out of so was using bio oil. But am thinking bio oil is more suitable for after the birth? Should I re-purchase moisturiser or is bio oil just as good? Any thoughts?

I haven't found bio oil to work very well.

I am currently using a lush moisturising bar. OH like rubbing it in and bonding with ladyboyd. Plus I have noticed a difference, you can barely see my stretch marks now and before they were really angry.

I've been using just a E45 type cream on my legs and arms and then Derma-mum cream on my boobs and tum.

I second Derma Mum, I used the cream and oil (preferred the oil) throughout pregnancy and although I have a few stretchmarks they've always been silvery in colour, never red or angry. x

Ooh I bought the golden syrup weetabix, as I'm another one who puts lots of sugar on theirs. I also put sultanas or raisins on mine too. They don't go as soggy as normal weetabix, and tbh, I'm not overly keen on them when they're a bit crunchy. The golden syrup flavour seems to dilute a bit when they do go soggy though, but I can imagine they may be nice with hot milk on a chilly day. Overall, I'd say they are a bit of a gimmick though really, so not really worth spending the extra on.

    Good luck to nutella!

Re moisturiser: I've just been using any old body moisturiser on my bump, boobs and hips at the moment. I'm constantly looking out for any signs of stretch marks on my tummy (have loads on my hips from general growth pre-pregnancy, so not worried about that), and the linea negra. I'm really hoping I don't get either. My Mum got the linea negra but no stretch marks.

Well off for spinach tagliatelle in a cheesy creme fraiche sauce now, accompanied by BGT.

Hugs for all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks for all the new products to try! I've just dug out some Soap & Glory body butter which I will use for now to get me through til I can pop out and get some other bits. Will save the bio oil for after.

One other question I've been thinking about. For those that work in office-y type environments, when you take time off for appointments do you then make the time up or just leave it? I have been having all my appointments after work or 9ish or 5ish so have to miss an hour at most which can easily be made up as I don't take a full lunch break & get there 30 mins early. But on the 21st I have my GTT which is at 8.40 and I'm expecting to be away from work for a good few hours. If I had holiday left I would book the morning off but I can't. It will be a nightmare to make that time up and I know I will feel guilty if I don't! We are entitled to appointments off but I don't want it to seem like I'm taking the pee!

Bellola, your employer is supposed to give you time off, paid, for antenatal appointments. There's some info here and here

  • Bellola you're legally entitled for time off for your appointments without making time up or taking holiday. If you've taken them so far in your own time I'm sure your boss won't have a prob with this one xxx
