Miss Money they sell that manual in Halfords - it's actually quite good - it's basically just a way of making it appeal to men, as it's a Haynes Manual. It gave me something to do whilst I was waiting for Moon to finish looking at nothing in particular one time whilst we were in there together. Think of it like a pregnancy book for men.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Sexymouse, that's soooo cute! Thanks for sharing :)

LMM, nothing exciting happening yet ('will let you know when it does' ;)), just the usual Braxton Hicks and the odd bit of random pelvic pain. Going food shopping in a bit as walking should do me good - oh, and because we've run out of white bread and cake! Yes, I did eat the last bits of toast in the middle of the night as predicted...

Meant to say thank you to everyone who commented on my situation with my overexcited friend - good to know it's not just me overreacting. Emsbet, thank you so much for sharing your own experience, it's definitely helped me see things from my friend's perspective and I will try to be patient with her. But I definitely won't text her when I'm in labour - she'll have to wait until baby's here! :)

omg. the oh has just declared he is buying this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Manual-Conception-Haynes-Workshop/dp/1844257592 seriously, what goes off inside his head i have no idea! he's told me he needs it incase i'm not here... i responded if he needs a manual i'm not overly confident in leaving the baby with him alone at all!!!!!

Aww, I think that's really sweet of him. He's just trying to get involved, plus it's obviously a bit of a 'man's manual' too. Me like!

Ikkle I've heard of this sheep and the giraffe. Where do you get sheep from?

My friend sent me mine as a gift but you can go on here and look for stockists etc. x

re the maual, maybe i was a bit harsh with him then :o I've done it twice before i guess and he hasn't. if he wants his "manual" thats ok i guess... i will get a bit annoyed though if the baby cries and he "refers" to it to see what to do though! ('cos that is a dan thing to do) and i can imagine him there with his book trying to change a nappy :rotfl:

I guess the idea is that he reads it first then puts the theory into practice!

I had a freebie pampers nappy in with one of my NHS pregnancy packs. The other day I went and got my teddy bear and demonstrated how to put the nappy on so that the OH might have a little bit of a clue once this baby arrives. He looked horrified, bless him.

lol, trouble is Dan see's it as a manual for "fixing" problems with the baby once it's here... i swear he's not normal :rotfl: I have said every baby is different and this "manual" isn't a reference book once the baby is here.. he looked at me like i'm the odd one! he then asked me what do i do if it poos? erm, it? she is a she and you change her bum! :rotfl:

Miss Money, at least he's admitting to not knowing everything - my OH seems to think he knows everything he needs to know about babies and refuses to read anything baby-related and didn't want to come to the antenatal classes with me! If reading the manual is going to give your OH a bit more confidence and reassurance, then that has to be a good thing. As for leaving the baby alone with him - well, almost all my baby-related knowledge comes from books, websites, newsletters and this forum (as opposed to real life experience) and my OH will have no choice but to leave the baby alone with me all day every day for the next 9 months!... I'm sure your OH will be fine once the baby's here, just be patient with him - even if that means explaining things that might seem obvious to you :)
