Why do you need to wean them out of it?

he doesn't like it anymore :( screams and screams (just because he's getting older and obviously forgetting the enclosed feeling of the womb, that's why swaddling works I think) He's also teething  and likes to have his arms out to suck on his fists.

Nightmare, if we do swaddle him, he screams and if we don't he screams because he's tired and won't sleep because his arms are waving around.

Also started sorting out clothes she's near growing out of - none of the stated weights apply to her as she's so long-limbed... integrated scratch mitts are pointless when the sleeves end above her wrists, so we're finally out of the early baby boring white babygros, and the premature sized vesties are almost at the end of their limits - thankfully the stuff me and daddy bought was mostly tiny baby size so still fits fairly well - but some newborn stuff's starting to fit her now as well. No idea what I'm going to do with stuff she's outgrown - haven't got the heart to put it on freecycle or get rid of it, but realistically can't see me ever needing stuff for a 4lb baby again to be honest.

All my beautifully organised drawers and we're still living off a pile of slightly smaller than newborn things on the top of them!

I really need to quit my weakness for the baby Jasper Conran stuff in Debenhams though - MIL's fault she bought us some as their newborn stuff was really small fitting - and it's sooooo soft and cuddly... so went in there today and got the cutest navy dress for a couple of months down the line. Like I say - I love stuff that's not pink... although a substantial amount of pink HAS crept into her wardrobe despite my stated intentions (and even daddy's cracked and said he loves some of it).

How about trying to Ebay or Gumtree it? You probably wouldn't get loads for it, but it's something towards the new stuff you have to buy :)

You didn't really get on with the hospital or I'd suggest giving it to them to donate to another family who had a baby unexpectedly prematurely.

Could keep some bits for yourself and memory box it :o

Also Jasper Conran stuff is teeny, my boy isn't massive and he was out of the newborn stuff at 2 weeks!

How about some bonio to chew on (for his teeth) and some bungee straps (for his arms)?

I'm not taking this baby thing seriously today am I :D:o

We use the Summer Swaddleme blankets, you can get them from mothercare online and amazon. They are great, but A - some babies don't like to be swaddled, at all. or B your baby may love it like ours, but right now we're trying to wean him out of it, he doesn't like being swaddled anymore, but because he's so used to be being tied up :ohe keeps waking himself up by whacking himself in the face (males aren't very bright) because he's not used to his arms being out. So if you go down that route I'd maybe not swaddle for daytime naps or something to get them used to it.

So true, I remember our little boy bopping himself in the face and waking up just as we had got him settled  was so frustrating watching him do it again and again !

Believe me at times I think he needs a cage rather than a cot. :(

It's so so annoying. If we swaddle him he will sleep eventually, but just lots of screaming before hand. I guess he doesn't like feeling contained now. Not that he ever has, bouncers and swings have gone unused because he doesn't like being strapped in anything!

Indeed, if only they came out knowing things it'd make my life so much easier! :D

Hello All, just catching up on thread, hope you all had a good Saturday.
Update from me at 40+2, I've been having a few twinges since 7pm, literally got back from shopping, tried the car seat in the car for the first time (bit late I know!) and then 10 mins later got a pain sort of on my knicker line which made me say ouch, had a couple like that since although not as strong. Have got dull ache in belly on and off and a heavy down below feeling, the kind you get when you are due on. Also felt need to poo (sorry TMI) although already been do dont actually need to! Really hoping this is it, but trying not to get too excited just in case. Been moaning today that I wanted it to happen this weekend and would be great if it did, although at the moment I feel like I cant believe this baby is going to come out of me soon!
    Fingers crossed!

Could be a sign :D I had a proper poo clear out before and during labour. (thankfully before I got to the hospital :D ) so could go in the dignity of my own toilet, before being strapped to the bed!

Have been pooing quite a bit more the last couple of days whereas before I wasn't even going once a day! Dull ache seems to have stopped but baby is now very active on one side of my belly!

I used baby sleepin bags with the first baby. I love them. So easy to temperature control. U check temp in nursery consult the chart. Dress them appropriately and whack them in sleeping bag. Pretty sure it's seven pounds or eight pounds u can use them from tho. I loved them so easy to wash and dry too
love you lots like jelly tots :o
