Jen - I previous read up on the maxi cosy car seats and bases; I seem to remember (but may still have to check!) that the diff with the maxi cosy base is that it is suitable for any maxi cosy seat so as your child grows you may have to buy a new seat but not a new base. I'm not sure if there are many other brands that do this? I do recall the maxy cosy got very good reviews too. My friend swears by her Mamas and Papas Cybex (+base) which she is giving to us and can be used with the M&P Zoom travel system.

Molly - keep on posting! x

This talk of car seats is panicing me more a lot more than the one about blood :D We have got a car seat as it came as part of our Quinny Buzz travel system but we haven't worked out how its going to fit into my car yet. Its a 2001 car so I don't think it will have ISOFIX as standard; we are probably looking at a seatbelt jobby. I want to know excatly how to secure it before munchkin arrives - and Dizzi's early arrival has spurred me on to get everything organised asap!

You bleed tons after giving birth, and for about 6 weeks after that, so stock pile up those maternity pads!

Molly keep posting please :) Advice from a professional is always welcome.

Jen, we have the silver cross Ventura plus as it came free with our pram :D We've also decided not to get the isofix base as its easy to fit with the seatbelt and like BB, I don't like seeing little ones in car seats all the time so will be using my pram. :)

I had one box, but when in hospital only used their pads and took a box of theirs home with me.

It is better to have too many than run out and have a mild panic about bed sheets etc. Although will add it is not the end of the world.

I'm thinking of getting a sling and leaving the pram/car seat everything until after ladyboyd is here.

I have so much bookmarked but can't bring myself to buy anything. Even maternity dresses are put aside.

Hi, I went thru 3packs just in hospital two nights.
I was then using nearly a pack a day.

we had a base for our car seats in the past and our new one has one as it came as part of the bundle, they are a god-send at times as although it doesnt take long to use the seat belt round the car-seat if you are doing a few short trips and need to get baby in/out lots its a pain ! also if the space around the car is limited they can be handy as you need the door width to reach around the car seat to strap it in. (or if its pouring with rain like it has lately)

also gives you a little peace of mind to know they are in properly, our first Graco seat was a real !!!!!! to do and always seemed to have a lot of room to move/wobble around,

worth looking for 2nd hand ones :money: on ebay.
    Bow Ties ARE cool
