Hey ladies, hope everyone is well.
Tried to catch up, have read everything but promptly let it fall out of my head! So tired today, woke up about 3.30 then struggled to get back to sleep until was time to get up for work.
Re bleeding: I had an emergency section so thought that they would suck out all the blood before they stitched you up so was a bit confuzzled when I was bleeding. Did use maternity pads to start with (Tesco ones) but felt like I was wearing a nappy and that they could be seen from space so didn't enjoy that at all. Can't remember how many or how long I bled for either TBH
The worst things for me were when I got yanked out of bed at 11am (after a c-section at 1am) to walk around and promptly threw up, they must have got me muddled up with someone else as they rechecked my notes and quickly scarpered and the first shower where you need to take off the bandage on your stitches. It took me about half an hour and lots of panting and heavy breathing. Was panicking if I pulled too hard would pull stitches out and would open up again(was probably still a bit high from the anaesthetic!).
2 of my friends have had babies this week, one 5 days late and the other bang on 37 weeks. We all work at the same place. Both had boys and unfortunately both are now on NICU. I'm so glad DD escaped NICU when she was born, it must be terrifying.
Anyhoo, I'll stop waffling on, hope all OK xxBoots: £107.xx on AC :j

If the kids are ill he can't clean up the sick i have to do it.. and poo well omg, if the kids have had the runs he has literally JUST and only just been able to put the offending artical either in the bin or in the wash
My ex husband wasn't squeemish and was brilliant during both births (for all his other faults) and brilliant after too, helping me to the loo etc etc. but i REALLY don't know how Dan will cope.... I've made him watch one born and birthing vids on the internet etc... but I'm still worried... any one got any tips?! xx
My poor husband turned around at the wrong moment in theatre and got confronted with the sight of a bucket of bits of placenta (they were pulling chunks of it out of me) being carried out of the room... he goes quite green when you remind him of it!
Having a horrid day - baby's got a snuffly nose, baby hasn't pooed in a day and a half now so I'm fretting about that... and hubby managed to let the dog (a greyhound so not one you want scarpering cos you'll never catch her) out when unloading the shopping as I'd rushed in ahead to feed the baby... still out looking for her now while I do posters/phone the various places likely to have her, but I don't think it's going to end well. I'm absolutely in bits but keeping it together while hubby just sobs and sits blaming himself - I'm afraid I lost my rag with him totally and shouted at him to man up a bit.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

Wow another busy day on here. It takes me ages to catch up with all the posts every evening!
Thanks a lot for the "bleeding" conversation. I was aware I am going to bleed but I thought it's going to be more like a heavy period! I also had "maternity pads x 3" on my list so off to Boots at the weekend to stock up.
I'm officially 30 wks today so have decided to slowly start buying things for the hospital bags (I was born 4 wks early so want to be prepared). Can anyone advise me where to get cheap nighties for labour and after? Obviously I'll probably need to throw them out so don't want to pay a lot. I'm pre-pregnancy size 18 and I am not keen on buying clothes online.
For granny pants I was going to get cheapest Tesco pants in a bigger size. Will they be fine?0 -
i've only got two packs of maternity pads! i'm horribly unprepared, aren't i?
I get awfully bad periods normally and LEAK everywhere for the first couple of days (sorry)
If it gets too bad i could always get TENA pants?0 -
