On the omeprazole front, my poor baby has to take it :( it's horrible. Does it actually work for you lot?

... and 3 packs of newborn Pampers as they're currently on offer in Waitrose for £3.90 for a pack of 54.

Just been to Waitrose and they've got a 1/3 off all baby stuff, not just nappies. The offer's running until 8th May (at least it is in my local shop).

I was a bit irritated because I've just ordered loads of Lansinoh breasts pads from Amazon, only to discover they're now much cheaper in Waitrose!

Thats the one i'm on. Called peptic liquid I think ain't it? Worked ok before me mostly. Although weirdly enough now im in 3rd trimester I get more relief lately from rennie. Where as throughout the rest rennie never touched it for me. Weird as ...

Well I got a call for work all day today at 8am - by 8.05am, it'd been cancelled. So, as my heartburn had been getting steadily worse over the weekend, despite taking the omeprazole that I was prescribed a month and a half ago, I decided to book an appointment with the doctor. I'm now home with a 500ml bottle of Gaviscon advanced, and having just had lunch, have taken my first dose. All I can say is YUCK!!! I don't think it's the flavour so much (I went for peppermint over the aniseed), but the texture is like thick PVA glue! Oh well, as long as it works, I suppose I'll just have to put up with it.

The sun is out here, and there is a slight breeze, so I've just put some bedding in the wash, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it dried on the line this afternoon. I've also had a good scrub at the limescale in the bathroom this morning, and although I think it needs another couple of goes (we live in a very hard water area), it's looking decidedly better. Maybe my nesting instincts are kicking in now. :)

Happy Birthday to Elelyn. Hope you have a wonderful day, and enjoy your spa treatment.

Labour vibes for those who need or want them.

makes me a lot happier knowing this, thank you! He literally screams the place down every morning when getting it, so at least I know it's not in vain.

It's great stuff and medicinally it really has revolutionised ulcer treatments. Worldwide, protein-pump inhibitors (the class of drug that omeprazole belongs to) are the second most commonly prescribed drug (after cholesterol-lowing drugs). People used to commonly require surgery for peptic and duodenal ulcers and ruptured ulcers were a real threat to life (this is in adults, not babies! I'm not trying to frighten you!). Nowadays people simply pop a pill and problem solved. Plus they don't tend to give the majority of people any side effects either.

I assume your LO takes this for reflux. It will be really helping him. Reflux is nasty. That's why I take omeprazole, I don't have ulcers.

  • I swear my bump knows when I am about to eat something 'naughty', just sat down with a glass of lemonade and a fizzy lolly to eat and as soon as I started opening the wrapper he started kicking me :p He does the same thing when there's chocolate involved :rotfl:
  • Feel groggy after my nap, but things to do :)
Happy birthday Elelyn hope you enjoy your bowling and dinner. Spa day sounds heaven :)
Emsbet I don't know about you but it's a lot of effort to go shopping nowadays so I get really disheartened when I don't find what I want. Mine are all under the bump trousers but now I'm finding them annoying and falling/rolling down.
gilly I've taken omeprazole for about 8 years, it's for reflux and yeah it's amazing. I know if I haven't taken it, I've taken the odd ranitidine on top at times. Hope it's helping your LO.
Glad you're feeling more positive Miss Money really makes a difference going out and about doesn't it. Glad you and OH are getting On better
Enjoy your last week Kelda :)

Just popping in to wish Charli good luck! xx

Emsbet, I hate an unsuccessful shopping trip, did you get yourself anything nice as a wee treat?

I will live vicariously through you guys for the next few days, have hit a real energy slump and sleep is a distant memory, I am going to prepare better tonight with a good book, nightlight, bottle of water and a snack and some rennies to see me through, failing that I'm just gonna get up at 3am to watch some TV and sleep during the day instead :D

I think what's keeping me awake is worrying about my sis' wedding this weekend, I want LO out but I know the best thing for everyone is to make it to Saturday and that feels like quite a pressurised situation when LO will just come when she's good and ready. Gonna tell the midwife how I feel at my 40+ appointment tomorrow and see if she has any advice
