Hi again,
sorry I forgot to ask in my last post but how often does everyone get Braxton Hicks?
Over the last two days I've been getting them a couple of times an hour and they even woke me up last night. I'm sure they're nothing to worry about and hopefully will be preparing my body so labour can be quicker but they're starting to make me ache alot (not sure how much of that is due to the torn ligaments not helping?).
If they're still happening so often by Friday I'll ask my midwife as I have an appointment with her Friday afternoon but thought I'd see what everyone else's experiences have been *hugs*
for the last few weeks I have been having between 2-5 an hour.. as ive been going further into full term they are getting tighter and more uncomfortable (but don't hurt) you can see my tummy going all tight. if bh's hurt at all ring the mw for advice and also they shouldn't follow a pattern at all...

I'm not sure I've had ANY braxton hicks. I am 38+3 - Is this normal? Of course it could be the case that I have had them and dismissed them as the baby moving (the baby is very active) - does that sound like it could be possible?
I'm starting to have a small niggle that it might mean I will be overdue. Had midwife on Thursday and she commented that the baby was head down but had not moved down into the pelvis and that my uterus was very relaxed. Normally when she palpates other mothers-to-be at this stage the uterus will react by tightening up a bit.
She also said that the baby seemed to be around 7lbs already. All in all I left feeling a little down. In fact, I don't think I've been quite right ever since as I now have puff-ball feet and carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand, a dose of the runs and pelvic arthropathy to deal with. feeling sorry for self today!:o0 -

some women don't get Bh's with their 1st baby.. its normalor you could be getting them but not realising.. sometimes my bh's feel like the baby is doing a splat starfish position but isn't iyswim.
a dose of the runs? could be a sign that things are going to get movingsometimes thats the bodies way of preparing for labour.
I tried to kid myself that this mornings vomitting on the stairs episode was me preparing for a week 37 labour.. I almost managed not to cry, and then failed miserably! and of course I havent gone into labourlol xxx

I didn't get them at all till the day before I went to the hospital - and even then I'm not sure that's what they were - I got periody pains but my stomach and tight haven't been used in the same sentence since I was about 11.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

When I get them my whole tummy feels tighter, bump feels solid to the touch and I am more 'aware' of bump IYSWIM. They only last about 20-30 sec a time and don't hurt, just feel a tad uncomfortable dependent on the activity I am doing at the time
Like others have said, not everyone gets them, I don't remember them at all with DS so I wouldn't worry

Well I got a call for work all day today at 8am - by 8.05am, it'd been cancelled. So, as my heartburn had been getting steadily worse over the weekend, despite taking the omeprazole that I was prescribed a month and a half ago, I decided to book an appointment with the doctor. I'm now home with a 500ml bottle of Gaviscon advanced, and having just had lunch, have taken my first dose. All I can say is YUCK!!! I don't think it's the flavour so much (I went for peppermint over the aniseed), but the texture is like thick PVA glue! Oh well, as long as it works, I suppose I'll just have to put up with it.
The sun is out here, and there is a slight breeze, so I've just put some bedding in the wash, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it dried on the line this afternoon. I've also had a good scrub at the limescale in the bathroom this morning, and although I think it needs another couple of goes (we live in a very hard water area), it's looking decidedly better. Maybe my nesting instincts are kicking in now.
Happy Birthday to Elelyn. Hope you have a wonderful day, and enjoy your spa treatment.
Labour vibes for those who need or want them.

Happy birthday Elelyn.
I can't do Gaviscon SM, it's yucky, i can just about tolerate Tums but they leave a yukky aftertaste sometimes.
My Stepdad has put a ban on my pregnancy. Sounds weird that. He's told mum she's not to talk about the baby or buy anything for the baby and that he doesn't want to know anything about the baby till it's born. Don't know what I can do to make him feel excited about the baby? It will be his first grandchild. Mums kinda ignoring him though and has been buying stuff in secret but i think it's pretty crap that she has to do that. I'm her only daughter and my brother is 14 so hopefully it will be a few years before he's having kids and he's stopping her being excitedYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
