Uh oh, DH invited some friends round tonight, said friends aint showing any signs of leaving but I decided to head to bed an hour ago and now I need a wee desperately, really can't be bothered to get up, dressed and ready to go for a wee but I can't sleep for thinking about it, hopefully they'll just head off soon!

Really think I'm going to give the washable nappies another go, been watching some you tube videos and think I was using the wrong fold! Anyway, they've bought out this new all-in-one nappy, one size fits all, that's supposed to be really good at night so might buy a few of those to test them out. I'd had a look on ebay, totted everything up and reckon I can get everything I need for about 6 months supply for around £60, which I don't think is too bad as it includes extra outers and inners and also 3 of the all-in-one jobbies. Also the good thing about ebay is, you don't have to buy a whole pack - you can pick and choose which bits you want which is ideal for me as I already have some!

I think it should save us around £40 by not buying disposables!

We are gonna try those all in ones, the ones we are looking at aren't very MSE, Totsbots, but I really want to try them as they're sooooo soft and fluffy!
  • can i ask some opinions please ?

Ive found a pair of combats on simply be but im not sure what their sizes are like,

Ive had no luck with maternity wear so far and ive been ordering off eBay as there are very few stockists near me, each time ive found my usual size 16 are coming up small.

has anyone ordered from them before ? Im thinking of going for a size 18 but i find they can be really baggy in the leg if too big :/

I have the exact same pair of combats from simply be. Like you I found clothes in my normal size a little bit small so went up a size and they are huge. Also the elasticated bit on the stomach only comes up to your waist not over the whole of your bump. I didn't realise that at first and pulled them right up, I thought they fitted perfectly so pulled the tags off then tried to sit down and the bottom bit doesn't stretch so really dug in my stomach. They are however really comfy when you get them in the right place although I am constantly pulling them up that should change over the next few weeks.

What I am trying to say, in a very long and confusing way:rotfl:, is that I would order them in both sizes as it won't cost you any more for delivery and it is free returns.

Think I read on one of the other forums dinah say grace is a month old today and hopefully allowed to come home in 4-6 weeks but will probably need oxygen at home still. Having seen photos on the other forum grace is a cutie x

Think dinah is still posting on MSE on other threads so sure she won't mind if you pm her x

I read a new thing yesterday about nappy changing making colic worse because lifting baby up my the legs bends the spine in a way that isn't good for them so instead of lifting them you have to role them side to side to wipe them and get the nappy on. I only heard about it yesterday and there is a you tube video about it but I haven't spoken to anyone who's tried it so don't know if it works.

My DD was born at 4:30am and after the birth they pulled out a spare bed from under my bed for my OH to sleep on, he then was allowed to stay until 8pm before being sent home although he went home earlier anyway to have a shower etc. I stayed in an extra night because they wanted to make sure I had breastfeeding sorted but this time if the timings are the same again I would want to go home asap.

Thanks for that Jenny, it is true, she screams when I change her bum, will bear that in mind x

With clothes - I found Next came up fairly generously sized - I basically lived in their black stretchy jersey trousers and they were disgustingly comfy and over the bump... I'm normally a 22/24 (more 24 at the moment) - and the 22 were a decent fit on.

With the hospital thing - I wouldn't worry - they were sweetness and light with all the mums going in and having conventional deliveries - all "oooh you did so well... congratulations" - just when you question or try to assert this birth plan (that I'm convinced they only get you to make to keep you out of mischief for a few weeks) thing they don't appreciate that.

They're blooming obsessed with aromatherapy though - 8cm dilated, waters just gone EVERYWHERE, labour suite sister breezes in "oooh I've just seen our aromatherapy trained midwife come past - do you want her to come see you"... me: "NO I WANT FLIPPING PETHEDINE!!!!"

Oh my Dizzi, you have had the most rubbish experience in the world at that place but they have an 'aromatherapy trained midwife' - maybe they should have just trained their midwifes properly in general instead of wasting their money!

Well I cannot believe I'm finally 40 weeks, I can't wait to meet our little one and am actually excited for things getting started, which I hope they do as I'd like to avoid induction. Have had three phone calls already today - I'm like 'back off' she'll come out when she's ready! My Dad actually said, "you should try eating a Mars Bar, your mother's waters broke with your brother after she had one!"

thanks ! :T thats exactly what I wanted to hear, didnt occur to me to order 2 sizes and return one :o

Ive just found some Mothercare maternity joggers that I bought last time round and didnt get to wear so they still have the tags on - they are an 18 but sit so awkwardly they fall off my bump - still better than too tight for slobbing about the house !

i have a real thing about stuff covering my belly, dont like the ones that sit under it at all - just feels like I want to pull them up all the time and it drives me bonkers !

    thanks for everyones input :T

Hope you all have a nice weekend, monsoon season here (well feels like it :p)
