Congratulations Dashikii - Hope your problems get sorted out soon, and that you and OH manage to reach a [STRIKE]truce[/STRIKE] decision on the names.

Had a tearful morning this morning as was stressing again about visiting my Nana in her home on Sunday. Spoke to my Mum about it, who didn't help when she told me that my Nana had been running Moon and I into the ground after our visit. In the end, Moon rang her back (at my request) and spoke to my Dad and said I wouldn't be visiting as it was causing me too much stress, and he didn't want that for me, especially with the baby (my Nana has Alzheimer's and can be extremely vindictive and nasty). Have spoken to my Mum since, and she's a bit more understanding, particularly as I cried on her about it all this time. So, I'm not going on Sunday now, so hopefully I'll stop having nightmares about it, and can look forward to the weekend a bit more. Got so worked up about it, that I have a pain just above my right hip now (like a pulled muscle).

Moon and I are going to a tabletop sale on Sunday morning, which is only selling children and baby stuff, so we're hoping to pick up a bargain or two.

We're off into town in a minute (if I can get him away from the BIL) and he's going to buy me lunch and we're going to go bra shopping again (the ones I bought at nearly 12 weeks are really uncomfortable already, so I'm going to go to House of Fraser to see if they can do a fitting where they actually use a tape measure -last one at M&S was lovely, but she just guessed my size based on what I'd been pre-pregnancy, and obviously there wasn't enough room allowed for if I grew any more).

Hugs for all who need or want them.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Grrr, I feel urgh :(

About an hour or so ago, my vision went all blurry and I had to shut my eyes for a bit, that has now resolved itself but I now feel yucky and have a headache... not sure whether to ring MW or not as I think it might just be a migraine (although not sure as have never had one before lol)

Will go pick Jake up in 1/2 hour and see how I feel after :(

Are you sure you're ok to pick up Jake jovi? Is there anyone who can help you out? I would ring the midwife just in case you need to have your blood pressure checked.

Well take care of yourself jovi. Have you taken any paracetamol yet? Hope you're feeling better soon and it's nothing to worry about.

Jovi I had had blurry eyesight at 32 weeks and a big silver floater in my eye.. i was told that written in my mw nites it states to ring the mw if you get blurred vision and or floaters.. as it can be a sign of high blood pressure. turns out mine was an abnormal migraine but best to get checked out? xxx

With the partner staying thing - hospital hell-hole that we went to have partners allowed 9am - 9pm, rest of the planet allowed 2.30-8.30 (and I think that's too flipping long judging by the behaviour of some during visiting time to be honest - the place needs a serious crackdown on the behaviour of some ward visitors - I had to watch people be removed on the orders of social services, people squaring up for a scrap with each other, I had kids being allowed to run amok and open curtains around my bed when I was expressing/trying to breastfeed - and failing - not surprisingly, we had people with TEN visitors at once for the entire visiting time... it was just an endurance test every afternoon I was in there with the behaviour of people)

They don't put partners up, and indeed when we were dumped on the ward after briefly seeing Erin in neo-natal... hubby was given 5 minutes to settle me in, and then the ward staff took pity on the state of him and decided not to make him drive home (not disgracefully late either - this was 11pm) and put him in their empty triage room with the proviso that he'd have to be up and out and off the ward by 6am the following day "for the privacy of the women"...

Yet every couple coming up with babies through the night had husbands allowed to stay for hours to settle their partner in... another example of how the standards change if the staff like you or not.

As for us - we're potentially facing a hospital readmission and I've been crying most of the afternoon at the thought of it - her jaundice is (apparently - I dispute this - it's hard to visually judge skin colour under these wretched energy saving bulbs and she's got hubby's olive skintone naturally) back and if it's not cleared by Tuesday's midwife visit - they'll start thinking about readmitting her for more phototherapy treatment... because of the previous social services crap over her birth - I can't really challenge this - but I'm incredibly distressed at the thought of being on that ward again... and woosh my milk production's dropped through the floor as the stress levels rise... it'll kill me going back in there - the place is barbaric in how it treats the preemie babies' mothers.

MW, when she talked about this and the floodgates opened with the whole birth story, was horrified and is contacting her area boss to tell them what's going on and how distressed I've ended up over the whole birth farce - time and time again people in the business who hear what's gone on, tell me it's really screwed up - so it can't just be me doing my usual irrational blow things out of all proportion thing can it.

Big ((hugs)) dizzi, I'm sorry you're still having to deal with the prospect of going back there. It's completely understandable why you are upset. Is there an alternative hospital close by you could go to?
