hi, was on here last year now have a bouncing 6 month old, but have found some euro coupons for huggies, wipes & little swimmers (think theres 5 of each)from the starter packs if they are any good to any1 on here please pm me & will post em to you no stamp required.otherwise they may end up in recycle which would be a shame seen as tho we are all so mse.
  • Morning ladies and bumps.
    Hope everyone is ok
Charli your womb must be super cosy, sending lots of labour vibes your way.
Jem hope you enjoy your chilling out before baby comes, sounds lovely to me.
BB I'll happily sample your banana cake ;) haven't have that for ages! Ohh that's made me hungry now.
Emsbet your room does look lovely. I'm thinking a cream colour with a mural or stickers, depending on how active I am by that time. OH wants a different colour as "cream is boring" but I'm not convinced. I'm a bit envious of your round bump. I still look podgy when I'm sitting down rather than pregnant.
Had a rough night as I had funny dream after funny dream! One was about stretch marks, maybe as I read about them here? I had a line around my lower back and they were all numbered. None on my belly tho! My work friend pointed them out. Then another was a girl from school who has turned into a psycho and the details are fuzzy but she was causing trouble of the doorstep of my childhood house with Loreal (?sp) shower gel. I don't think she's gone mad in real btw shes a lovely person. Very, very strange!

Can I ask a question? This may sound daft now. I know the hospital where I work partner/husbands can visit 8-8 and I think my local hospital is the same. However they have a midwife led unit too which I'm unsure about. I know I'm planning a home birth, but was talking to OH about the positives of this and I told him that normally hubbies can't stay overnight and he might have to leave me and bubba there and come home alone. He was shocked by this so I just wondered if anyone else's local hospital or birthing centres allowed visitors to stay overnight?

During birth and labour my husband will be with me. If I subsequently stay for a night or two on the post-natal ward he'll have to go home. I know some units do allow partners to stay but I don't think this is overly common.

I'm having my baby in hospital but at my local birthing centre, not even the mother's allowed to stay overnight! They boot you out six hours after you've given birth; there are no post-natal stays at all

  • I just checked on my hospitals website - visiting hours are:

    M2 Women's Unit: Partners and siblings 9am - 9pm, friends and family 2pm - 3.30pm and 7pm - 8pm

Doesn't say anything about partner overnight stays and I don't recall it being offered last time with DS..

In my hospital they do hv the option for partners to stay but Im not sure what the conditions hv to be to allow this.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

At my hospital partners were also allowed 9-9. They were able to stay overnight in a private room but this was £200 a night!!! Not very MSE.
Unless you can go home straight away it really is normal practice that the woman just stays on her own to recover and get her and babies checks done before they leave.

I can get a private room if I don't want to be on the ward. Even so, it's only for me and bambino. OH still has to go home. Having said that it's £80 not £200!

  • I have already pre-warned the midwife that I will be mithering to go home asap lol last time I was in for 3 days and spent most of that asking anyone dressed in uniform to discharge me :p I have been told its now down to 2 days for c-sections so I am aiming for that :o
  • Thanks ladies, I guessed it would be similar elsewhere but wanted to check. I don't know what he thought happened, maybe he thought it'd be like a hotel and we'd all get to stay courtesy of the NHS.
