Im having a bit of a funny day today, didnt feel much movements yesterday evening and today baby is not where I normally feel him (just above my bikini line)

I feel so out of sorts, like a swimming feeling in my tummy - I think I feel movements but rather than being in a specific place it feels like a balloon expanding inside  like a weight rather than a poke ?

I guess he has moved and is now just poking my inside somewhere so i cant feel it, miss the feeling already :(

Little Miss - Work knew I was pregnant since the day I found out. They kept saying they would do a risk assessment and I still haven't had one despite me explaining to them I was having problems with my back and hips etc they still had me walking round with customers, carrying the rubbish out to the bins etc. So I asked again for a risk assessment 2 weeks ago and was told that they wouldn't do one until I wrote a letter confirming my pregnancy, when I was due, when I wanted to go on maternity leave and so on. Not sure how anyone can say when they want to go on maternity at only 4 weeks though.

Hmm... I might not write confirming when I want to take my maternity leave then, think I might write and say please can you forward a copy of the companies maternity policy and then I can make a decision about maternity leave. I thought if you were on sick then they started your maternity leave from 27 weeks. If it's 4 weeks before EDD It's much bloody better lol so wouldn't want to drop my foot in it just incase.

Unless anyone knows the maternity policy for Sainsbury's? x

I hope these don't come out massive but this is what the new maternity notes I got look like. Like I say they are completely different to the green ones I had before.

Mishka, like you said little man has probably just moved positions. If he's facing towards your back you most likely won't feel much. I know how you feel though, my little wriggler went quiet on Monday and the occasional movements I felt were a lot fainter but yesterday they were back to what I'd been experiencing.
I've had lots of "weird" sensations in my lower tummy which I'm thinking are either everything shifting inside and growing or wriggler swimming around in there.
My midwife said its fine at this stage not to feel them for a day or two because they are still so small but I know it's hard not to worry. LO will move back round soon.

    xx

  • There are four of us on our ward who are pregnant so I guess my boss photocopied for us. Mine isn't specific to for sure. My joints are dodgy already and part of it that I get tired easily, but according to her risk assessment the risk of me getting mentally or physically fatigued are "low" and it's my responsibility to take my break etc. if he filled vacancies with bank/agency then there might be some hope of anyone taking a break. She knew last yr that I was struggling as I postponed my last Uni module. The risk of physical assault is "low" I was off work in December after being attacked by a patient and having my hand slashed open needing stitches. All rubbish, inaccurate and nothing has changed at all.
    Well rant over I guess!
I'm not sure if the four weeks before edd is nhs wide just just our trust or countrywide. Maybe that gov.uk has info. I'm sure I read on there about smp etc. can you not get on you're intranet for the policy? Mines in the maternity policy not sickness policy xx

My employer says if you go off sick then maternity leave commences at at 36 weeks. I went off (sick) at 32 weeks with DD and was soooooooo bored, so I understand wanting to retain mat leave as late as possible, but will be finishing the beginning of July and due 11th August because of annual leave, and wanting to cherish DD a bit before the baby comes.

I'm a bit worreid about how DD is going to react to the baby, she has started calling herself a little baby and curling up on my lap and wanting to sleep in her old cot bed (we got her a new disney princess bed last week), I'm trying to ignore it at the moment and hopefully she will grow out of it. Bless her she is only 2 so must feel very unsure of the changes.

Good luck for tomorrow Laura, and hope everyone else is good. I am shattered as had a really busy day so taking a break from college work tonight and will demolish an easter bunny with a book in bed!

    Evening ladies!

Rebekah, I sleep partially on my front too, I try to lay on my side but always end up tilted onto my tummy a bit. i often wake up on my back too. Apparently the whole left hand side thing is to do with the best supply of oxygen but there's only actually a tiny difference between being on your left hand side, right hand side or your back and you would feel breathless and move position naturally long before it was bad enough to cause baby any problems.

My little monster has been pretty quiet the last 2 days. Today i got close to calling the hosp a couple of times but then it had a wriggle and calmed me down a bit. It's been a bit more active the last couple of hours but still not 100% normal. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow so i'll mention it to her.

    Laura, good luck for tomorrow.

I'm hoping my little monster decides to put in an appearance soon, DH has fixed holidays as he works shifts and he is off for 10 days after tomorrow. It'll be sods law that baby decides to wait until he's back at work. If that's the case he'll only get 12 days off so if I spend a day of that in labour and possibly a couple of days in hosp (apparently they like you to stay in a couple of days to get breastfeeding established if you're happy to) then I won't get much time with him at home to help me. I'm going to hint to the midwife in the hope she might do a sweep tomorrow but I bet she won't!

Oh and weight......I think I mentioned last week, I have put on almost 3 stone!!! I've told a few people in real life and they've all been really shocked as you really can't tell! I can tell that I've put a bit on other than bump but not much and my bump is quite small too. I'm also hoping to remember to weigh myself once I go into labour and then again once I get home to see how much baby+water+placenta equates too. i'm not worried about losing the weight afterwards, I intend to walk lots with the pram and hope to breastfeed so hopefully I'll be able to get back to normal fairly quickly.

The employer should ask for any official letter to do risk assessment! although, mine was rubbish. I left work at 29 weeks and still haven't seen the final copy, although it was done at about 11-12 weeks! I saw a draft copy where they got loads wrong, even my manager was someone I neve heard off!!!

I am getting a bit worried tonight. I am getting quite a few sharp pains down below from inside, if that makes sense. I had them before, but tonight it is quite bad, it even makes me jump sometimes as I am half reclined on the sofa. I am also worried there might be some water leaking or too much discharge (sorry, tmi), as time from time I feel more dampness, even though I have just been to the loo! I have appointment tomorrow morning, so will have to speak to midwife/consultant.

I think I'll be fine for tonight. Having a cup of (camomile) tea with Apprentice.

Maybe I am just tired. Also, my cat is not again today, he threw up twice already and barely had any food. I didn't let him out much today as it was so coke and he only goes out if you keep the door open for him to come back when he wishes.
