Aww poor LMM. That must've been terrifying for you and OH. I hope you have a relaxing day today and feel better soon.
I was chatting to my DH about using the exercises that Triangle's physio recommended and he said that maybe that wasn't such a good idea because physios recommend exercises based on an individual's needs and Triangle's exercises are probably just for her.
Just a thought.
So what I'm gonna do is continue with my swimming and walking and give the pregnancy yoga dvd that my friend lent me a go. I'm at the midwife in 3 weeks so if I have more problems by then I can let her know.
I hope you all have a good day.

Gosh LMM, that sounds really scary - I hope you're ok! Glad you called 999 though.
How exciting that Laura is in hospital right this minute! Can't wait to get an update from her with lovely newsI always think it must be so odd going in for a planned caesarean, knowing you're walking in as two people, and will be coming out as three...!
Had our second antenatal class last night, and it was bl00dy hilarious! The midwife taking it was so funny, was really fun but really informative at the same time. She was showing us labouring positions and kept doing impressions of women in labour - panting etc - we were all laughing our heads off! :rotfl: Saw the classic birthing video as well, very eighties. Don't know why they bother, really, surely everyone's seen OBEM by now...?!
Gin, I like your notebook idea, might do the same if people are winding me up. Def gonna keep a small book too for recording feeds etc. I know there are phone apps for that kind of thing but I prefer good old pen and paper!

LMM - Take Care
Gin - Good Luck today! My 32 week scan is tomorrow to check whether placenta has moved - looking forward to seeing how baby has grown!
Hello to everyone else.0 -
Sorry Laura didn't get online early enough to wish you well but looking forward to hearing from you! :j
Labour vibes to the boldies and everyone else that's patiently waiting on their LO's arrival!
LMM scary stuff, I've had a few midle of the night shortages of breath/panic attack type things but nothing as serious as this, do take care and take it easy
Meeting some friends for lunch today, I'll be so grateful of adult conversation, the dog is a sweetie but doesn't say much :rotfl:gonna stock up on a few magazines and get some stuff to make a nice dinner tonight0 -
Good luck today Laura, can't wait to read your update
LMM sounds like a very eventful night ! Take it easy and look after yourself
Hope all goes well today at hospital Gin
Had my second night of decent sleep in a row last night - I feel almost human today!! Have so far managed to put on two loads of washing (one in dryer at the moment), washed up, reorganised a kitchen cupboard and hung DS's new Man Utd curtains.... am having a brew and a rest now :rotfl:
Have to ring MIL in a bit - she wanted to talk last night but I was knackered so put her off til todayThink she wants to know what we have left to buy but I kind of feel a bit funny asking for things.. OH says I am too independant for my own good sometimes
Hope all well,

*hugs to LMM* sounds scary but at least you got a paramedic and doctors who treated you well and they're going to keep an eye on you and baby.
Emsbet I feel worried every time I have a scan - I've had 5 so far and all have been perfect but I still get niggles of worry beforehand. I think it's probably normal especially for the 20 week scan as that is the 'abnormality' scan. It's amazing when you see it - the difference between baby at 12 weeks and at 20 weeks is awe inspiring
Last antenatal class last night was on having an 'active birth' which sounded rather like hippy nonsense to my OH but it turns out that the class is more about why trying to give birth lying on your back means your body has to do a lot more work than if you're moving about, standing/kneeling and leaning forward. The midwife went through the history of birth and physiology so was quite interesting. Lots of comments about wiggling your pelvis in the latent stages of labour so gravity can help baby m- ove further down. I had the image of me trying to remember how to samba from my childhood dance classes
Got a letter this morning from the hospital, they want another urine sample as they're worried about UTI/something more interesting. At my obstetrician appointment on Friday I took along a sample which the student midwife tested and got concerned so it was tested by a qualified midwife who then asked for another sample to send to the lab and now I have to do another. I haven't got any symptoms of a UTI and it's probably nothing but at least they're thorough.0 -

Basically, lying flat on your back = really hard work for you, but really easy for the midwives/doctors. Or am I just an old cynic?
Personally I don't care how undignified it is (labour's pretty undignified anyway) but I want to push my baby out whilst being on my hands and knees. Let's hope I don't have an epidural!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Morning all
I saw MW just now and all looks well. Baby is engaged in a good position and apparently could come at any time - I'll believe it when I see it though!
Shes booked me in for a sweep at the ante natal clinic on Sunday if nothing happens before.
Im feeling quite sore and sorry for myself now as she really poked me hard today to check baby's position. I feel sorry for Pip too - Im sure he/she was asleep and got poked awake as I ve been getting indignant kicks and stretches ever since!
Luckily hubby has a day off today so he has gone to get me a donut bless him.
LMM that sounds so scary. Big hugs to you and I hope it was just a one off. I ve suffered from panic attacks, which I know arnt the same thing but anything which causes shortness of breath is so frightening xxx
Cant wait for news from Laura!

I was lying flat so sat up and opened the window etc but an hour later (after OH has fannied about googled carp) I convinced him to call 999 as I thought they could assess me at home (our local hospital has no A&E anymore) and to be honest I was panicking a bit. My fingers were blue and heart going a bit fast. Got a paramedic in a fast response car who was great who then called for a proper ambulance to take me to Hosp. But there wasn't one in the area so waited a very long time it seemed for one to come. Anyway after three hours I saw a lovely dr who had worked with my rheumatology consultant so actually knew a bit about my other problems which was nice. They did test for DVT which was neg, bloods were mainly normal, also a very painful arterial blood gas and now I have big bruise. Anyway still quite breathless but I can speak. The pregnancy unit will follow me up with extra scans etc just to check all is well with bubba. But even though I understand all the medical jargon and am familiar with hospitals, it's very very different being a patient and terrifying!
So I'm home now, but sounds daft I'm a bit scared to sleep incase I stop breathing or something awful happens :-(
How absolutely horrible. I'm suffering with breathlessness too - thankfully not as bad as this - but I can fully sympathise with how distressing it is.
Strangely I try to move about a bit, you might feel like you've not got enough oxygen to keep you from fainting but moving around seems to help my circulation, take my mind of things and eventually I calm down. Like with you, being laid flat is often the worst position to be in, I also find leaning back on the sofa quite uncomfortable and usually have to lie down properly on either side. When I feel breathless I try to get up and about and gently moving.
It's also tempting to panic and I'm wondering whether this contributed to the severity of your attack. One thing that's quite useful when your heart's racing is to take a slow deep breath in and hold it for five or ten seconds. This can help the heart slow a bit and can make you feel more comfortable. Try also to learn some simple breathing exercises - any pregnancy yoga DVD should have a few that you can try. I find them really useful.
You won't stop breathing whist you're asleep so try not to worry about this. Basically, you've got nearly 50% more blood circulating around, but not 50% more red blood cells. This is why you feel breathless - your blood's quite literally got less oxygen in it. But rest assured, you still have enough to keep both you and your baby perfectly well.
You did exactly the right thing by calling the paramedics as it's wise to check both you and your baby. Hopefully you won't get another attack as severe as this one x."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I'm pretty sure the on back, pinned to the bed thing is why my birth went to hell how it did.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
