It seems that one of the cats (either mine or visiting one) decided to pee/spray in the corridor by the front door... So, I have replaced the airwick spray in hope that it will discourage them. I think I will need to insist with OH that we put tiles or Karndean/Amtico there instead of the carpet, so at least we can clean place thoroughly if they turn to this again...

Aw, thanks for the support - much appreciated! With regards to your cats, the smell of lemongrass is supposed to put them off peeing in areas you don't want them to, or another tip is to put foil down in the area as they don't like the feel of it I think. My own cat didn't seem to bothered about foil though when he ripped it to shreds to get at the banana cake it was covering!

    Laura - Many congrats!

Mimi - I don't think £250 is unreasonable at all considering the items you have listed, but I have been looking on ebay myself for prams and the like and there are LOADS out there! I searched within a 5 mile radius of my address and tons popped up (and I'm only in a small town in the Midlands!) Most people looking on ebay are after a bargain - unless they are specifically searching for the make and model that you have, you may find that you'll struggle to get what you want for it. You could always advertise it at a buy it now price with a best offer attached and see what people would be willing to pay? You're under no obligation to accept offers but it may give you an idea? I can understand that you don't want to let it go for a song though - it's so frustrating when you have spent a lot of money on something and then end selling it on for a fraction of its value!
  • Afternoon all!

Laura many congrats again! Lovely name and he is gorgeous. Glad breast feeding is going well. Hope you're not too sore from the surgery.

Hugs missmonkeymoo hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the tip Snoopy will have to make a note of the bubble bath. Lovely to hear you and Izzie are getting on well.

Mimi, I would say the same look on eBay. I've been looking at bits on there and for big things that aren't practical to post it really does depend on how far away it is whether it's worth it or not. If someone is really after the pram and it's in good condition etc they might be willing to travel a bit further. It's whether you put it in a auction with reserve or buy it now.

Thank you for all the messages. Fluffnutter you're right inbetween everything I did panic at times making it worse especially when my fingers were going blue. I was trying to hold my breath a bit to try and "reset" it but just made it worse. It's normally me reassuring my patients they're not about to snuff it in their sleep or under anaethetic so looking back I do feel daft. I've been to the day unit this afternoon and they scanned bubba just to check he's ok. And he is, very bouncy in there seems to be enjoying himself so I relax. Still a bit breathless walking about but a lot better now. I will look at breathing exercises too. Thank you for your kind words xxx

  • If I was buying a pram that was 650 new and didn't mind 2nd hand I would be over the moon finding one for 250 if it was in excellent condition

The make is a good one (I dont wanna say in case i get in trouble but you'd instantly recognise the name lol) - and i have looked after it (how much damage can you actually do in 5 months lol)

I did look on ebay but to be honest the EXACT same prams as mine are on there for anything between £150 - £300 but not many have bids (I'm not sure if it is because of the distance as they are all collection only?) The nearest one to me that is exactly the same is 80 miles away lol

Was considering Ebay and local papers etc but not sure what to put it at (I thought £250 was great - the flipping parasol cost me £20 flipping quid and i only brought it at easter lol)

Maybe i shouldnt have brought the new pram today ...... Only reason i wanted it is because my first one is REALLY bulky and takes up all the room in my boot which is a nightmare now we are travelling around visiting relatives etc (Didnt think of this when we brought it lol)

New one I've brought is the baby jogger :) (I can say name a this one because im not selling it LOL)

Have a look on facebook, near me, even in the small town I live in, are at least 10 groups for "(area) for sale /free/wanted" and on top of that several baby groups selling specific baby stuff,

You dont then have any fees to pay, so if you start at the higher end and no-one is interested you can drop the price without paying anything - also people can make you offers so If you would like £250 but would take £220 then you can negotiate !

Ah Laura, congratulations on your blue bundle, lovely name :) enjoy your mummy cuddles!

Had a lovely lunch with friends and got a few bits and bobs in town to save me going back out over the weekend as the price of my transport fares is shocking now I'm not working and don't need a travel pass, I have somehow managed to get near payday with lots of cash left so staying home and nesting has paid off, I think it'll be scary getting that first SMP paycheck though!

Glad little one was ok LMM, don't feel daft, you have your LO to think about, it's natural to worry, do take it easy though x

Mimi, I think ebay is a good idea, but a friend of mine bought her pram through a friend of a friend through the Facebook 'marketplace' - don't know how it works but she found it more reassuring buying through someone she 'sort of knew' - could be worth a look.

Midwife's just left and I'm feeling a bit worried :o

I'm measuring a bit big for my dates (I was 27cm at 28 weeks, and now 33cm at 32 weeks), plus had a bit of glucose in my urine (had just had lunch but she has spotted it on occasion before, too).

So she's referred me to see the consultant, have to go in next tuesday :( Everything's been going so well until now! Hopefully it's nothing though...

Terrified now of having a ginormous baby and not having a nice straightforward birth, and feeling guilty about all the sweet things I've been craving... :(

MW told me the same and my little fella was only 6lb7. They had me really worried and had a scan at 37.5weeks.
TBH, I am.not sure how accurate they vcan be.
    Please don't worry

  • I second what snoopy said regarding towels I think I have used the last 9months worth since Saturday
Also I think it was Ro who mentioned the cup I didn't get one but struggled in hospital on the first night to get enough water as I had no feeling in legs and wasn't topped up

Laura congratulations on the arrival of Charlie
