That is soo true. You did always say you expected to go early because of your history but I bet that all feels like a million miles away now. I hope you OH is on the mend soon and I'm sorry you seem to be going through a rough patch. I hope things get better.

I'm sooo ready for these babies. My only concern is that I feel like I'm about to run a marathon but my body doesn't have the energy. I have all sorts of ailments that I try not to focus on and I really wish I felt more physically strong so I can take on anything.

I'm sure it will all be fine though.

Dashikii, I think they would normally say you don't need to take your bags with you for a sweep as they don't generally work very quickly but if you've lost some plug and are getting a few cramps it might be worth either taking them or having them ready for your OH to nip and get them if needs be incase they find you've already started dilating. When I was in for monitoring a few weeks back there was a lady who'd gone in for a sweep but when they examined her she didn't need one as she'd already got to 6cm dilated without knowing anything about it! They told her to go home and get her bags and be back in an hour.

Glimmer, glad to hear Leo's foot isn't too bad and they've got it in plaster getting it sorted already.

The weather is miserable here today, it's more like November than April! I'm having a quiet day for 2 reasons, firstly DH is in bed as he was on nights so I have to keep quiet and not wake him up, and secondly, I slept pretty badly last night so I'm too tired to do much anyway! MIL is coming to take me out for lunch in a bit but other than that I don't think I'll be straying far from the sofa!

I'm 19 weeks today and have my anomaly scan a week today. In all the excitement of hearing wriggler's heartbeat I forgot to ask the midwife a few questions so I'm hoping you lovely ladies can answer them for me.
Do I need a full bladder for the scan or is my uterus now far enough forward that I don't need to? It doesn't say in my letter so I'm guessing not.
Do you see a midwife after the scan like with the dating scan or is it just a scan?
Or are these things dependant on where you live like most maternity services?

I asked the sonographer at my last scan about whether I needed a full bladder for the next one (will be 18+4) and she said I didn't. As you'll be much further along than me when you have yours, I'd imagine yours will be even less likely to need to be full. My next midwife appointment isn't until 25 weeks, so quite a long time after the scan. I suppose it depends slightly on whether they find any anomalies.

Lovecrafting so sorry to hear about your OH. I hope they managed to repair the bowel without too much fiddling about so he'll be up and about soon. Is the stepson helpful or more of a hinderence? I'm sure your daughter will look back and be glad daddy's ok. Big hugs to you, you've had such a hectic few weeks.

Emsbet you're sounding very busy there. When are your new carpets coming? I'm getting excited about planning the nursery :-) :-)

I'm feeling a little bit sicky today, I think the culprit is the box of Heroes I munched yesterday whilst trying to write my last uni paper. I just crave sugar when I'm studying. Will have to not eat so many today :-S weather is pants here too so will hide in the study and lurk on here.
