Congrats Safesound. Sounds like a big boy! Lovely name xx.[
QUOTE=mishkanorman;52518187]Do you not have medicom or something similar in your area ? Its a phone service for the midwife team so I can call and leave message and whichever midwife is on call gets back to me. Think its 24/7 ?

Nope, well not that they're telling me anyway. less than 2 weeks till my due date now anyway so i'm sure I'll get there without it lol!0 -
Huge hugs to you Dizzy!! Can't believe the ordeal you've been through but so pleased you and Erin are safe and starting to turn the corner. Such a beautiful name too x x0

Congratulations, Safesound!
Did some more of my cross stitch, not sure I will finish the blanket before babies arrive, but I like speeding some time on the sofa doing it. I am just slow... There are 6 baby animals, I finished one so far, 5 more to go...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Congrats Safesound xx
I don't think I could have my mum in the room with me, my friend had her mum and fella in with her but I will have enough on with my fella without my mam there to irritate me too lol.. My nan is the one who has been there through all my hospital stays and operations but she turned very pale and nearly passed out at the last one so the site of my foof might tip her over the edge lol.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I was tested for OC too as i was SOOOOO itchy all over the place. Nothing helped, until the consultant prescribed me aqueous cream with menthol in it.. Oooooh the blissful relief! If anyone is suffering, i would recommend asking for a prescription for it.
Thanks for the recommendation Kira - I'll definitely ask my surgery for a prescription!
I went to the midwife drop-in today and they've taken bloods to check the itching isn't anything more serious - will get the results tomorrow.
The midwife also tested my urine and said it was high in sugar and high in ketones... She didn't seem concerned as she thought it'd be high from lunchtime although they'll keep an eye on it (I'd only had a prawn baguette and water for lunch which was at 2 hours earlier).
Wishing everyone a peaceful night's sleep x x0 -
I just asked this on the newborn thread, but thought I'd put it here as well for any input.
I am due to have a sweep on Wednesday, should I be taking my hospital bags with me? I know the sweep doesn't work for everyone but I would like to be prepared in case it does. My only concern is that I have quite alot of stuff to take as I am having twins so don't want to log it around if I don't have to.
Also I lost quite a bit of my mucous plug this afternoon, does that mean that labour is starting soon? I've heard that some people lose theirs way before they have their babies so not really sure whats going on.0 -
Congratulations Dizzy! What a rough time you had
Glad Erin is doing well, bet you cant wait to get home now!
My nipples have been leaking clear liquid for a good few weeks (I'm 29+4), not enough for me to wear pads though yet! The other day my left one was leaking the creamy type fluid, I got all excited and shouted for OH to have a look, he didn't know whether to be happy or grossed out!
Jovi - Haven't noticed my eyebrows thinning but my eyelashes have all but disappeared!! Usually I have lots and they are pretty long but now.....even using eyelash curlers doesn't make a difference, my eyes look like pin holes after an hour of applying mascara!
We're going to have an open house for a few days after we get home but after that would like to be by ourselves for a week or so to get into some sort of routine. Luckily our families and friends are quite understanding and will leave us to it! OH is taking 2 weeks paternity and 2 weeks holiday so will have a lovely month off together
My SIL is being a bit of a nightmare, very excited about baby but is taking it a too far.
She's found a place in the Isle of Man that do classes for Aunties to make them more prepared for having a niece/nephew......so she's booked the flights, and a hotel just to take these classes. We live just outside of London.
Not to mention she recently bought a new car that HAD to be a 5 door because of 'getting the baby in and out' and that she constantly refers to our baby as 'her bean'.......you get the picture.
Me and OH think its very weird, and have said so, she just laughs it of and says, 'you know I was going to be a nightmare!'
Most people think she's just very excited as its the first granchild/ first baby in OH family.
OH has had his ear to my belly tonight to listen to the heartbeat and got a kick straight in the face, was hilarious!
Re midwives, I think I'm quite lucky as I see mine every 4 weeks without fail, and I'm low risk and only having the one!
xxAttitude is a little thing that makes a big difference0 -
Dashikii I don't really have an answer. But are you driving to the hospital? Maybe load the bags in the boot just incase or have them ready at home so OH can just run in and grab them. I don't know if there's a few small bits you could fit in your handbag (some of mine are huge) like a nightie, sock, slippers? Stuff that you'd need straight away if things started moving (you can tell I've not looked at the "what to pack" page in the book yet)
MrsBryan Your SIL sounds mad, but sounds like her heart is in the right place. I am curious what they teach the aunts-to-be. I may start running my own course as an experienced auntie lol. She may be a very keen babysitter in time:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j
